What 10 mm Actually Does
A race foam is not there for comfort in the way a road seat is. Its job is to stop the rider sliding forward under braking and to give a predictable surface to move across when changing sides. Ten millimetres is enough to do both without raising the rider noticeably above the tail's own line — which matters more on the R9 than on a litre bike, because the standard machine already sits a little taller and more upright than a pure supersport, and adding height works against the position a rider is trying to reach.
The Plate Is the Part That Lasts
All three levels in Carbonin's range share the same Avio Fiber plate. That means a bike set up with this foam can move to the STANDARD FM2050Y or the PROFESSIONAL FM2060Y later without changing anything else, and it means a worn cover is a cover problem rather than a whole-unit problem.
