DescriptionThe whole story▼
When a Yamaha WR250R is packed for a journey, with a tail bag and panniers on a rack, the rear brake takes on more work, especially on long descents and in the rain. For the WR250R from 2008 to 2020, Accossato lists its AGPP106 rear pad in the Sintered (ST) compound. It is intended for riders who tour on their dual-sport, carry luggage, ride in changing weather and want the rear pedal to feel the same at the end of a wet mountain day as it did at breakfast.
Key Features
- AGPP106 rear pad, Sintered (ST) compound
- Listed for the Yamaha WR250R, 2008 to 2020
- High and stable grip whatever the temperature
- Good wet grip, per Accossato
- Suited to touring with luggage
- One set per box for the rear caliper
- OR and STMX also offered
Construction and Material Quality
For the ST mix, Accossato stresses evenness: grip is high and hardly shifts between a cold pad and a hot one, and the compound holds on well in the rain. On the back of a laden dual-sport, where the rear brake is leaned on more than usual, that evenness is what the rider actually feels through the boot.
Rear Brake Under Load
Luggage on the rear rack shifts weight backwards, which makes the rear brake more effective, and touring riders use it more. On a long descent from a pass, a WR250R rider may keep a light, steady pressure on the pedal to hold the bike's speed, and the rear pad heats up as a result. A sintered pad keeps its feel as the temperature climbs, and when rain begins it bites promptly on a wet disc. On a small bike carrying a lot, that predictability makes the whole day calmer.
Road Grime on Tour
After rainy stages, rinse the rear caliper and check that the pads still move freely. Spray from the rear tyre carries grit straight into the caliper, and a quick clean each evening keeps the pedal feel consistent for the next day.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue pairs AGPP106 at the rear with AGPA51 at the front for the Yamaha WR250R of 2008 to 2020. The rear wheel carries one caliper, so buy one box. Before a long trip is the right moment for the change: clean the pistons, measure the disc, and replace brake fluid that is past its interval. Pump the pedal until it is hard, then give the new pads a few moderate stops before loading the bike.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE or test mark for this pad. It is offered for competition use.
