DescriptionThe whole story▼
Paddocks at a club race meeting are rarely paved, and a ZX-6R propped on its stand across loose gravel or uneven grass stands a real chance of toppling if the ground gives way slightly underneath the stand's foot. The swingarm and rear axle are usually what meets the dirt first in that kind of fall. For the ZX-6R built between 2003 and 2016, Accossato's PP004 rear axle sliders are there for exactly that paddock mishap, the ordinary kind that has nothing whatsoever to do with actual riding at any speed at all.
Key Features
- Rear axle sliders for the Kawasaki ZX-6R, 2003 to 2016
- Accossato part PP004, one protector for each side of the swingarm area
- Aluminium combined with plastic, finished in black
- Spacers, screws and further mounting parts in the kit, as stated by Accossato
- Meant to touch down first if the rear end slides or the bike tips over
- Designed to complement the PF08 front axle sliders for the same ZX-6R
- A common addition when converting a road ZX-6R for track use
- No German ABE on file; listed for racing and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium and plastic combine in the PP004's build, finished uniformly black, with one protector fitted per side of the swingarm and rear axle on this bike. The box bundles in spacers, screws and anything further Accossato thinks the fitting job requires. This ZX-6R's own swingarm dimensions go unmentioned in what we've been given, so no specific geometry is claimed in this listing.
Paddock Ground Is Rarely Level
A tarmac pit lane is the exception rather than the rule at most club race meetings; more often a ZX-6R ends up parked on grass, gravel or compacted earth that shifts slightly under a stand's weight as the day goes on. A stand that sinks even a little can tip the bike onto its side with nobody touching it, and the rear end takes that fall just as readily as it would a mid-corner slide. A slider there means the swingarm casting itself isn't what absorbs the impact.
Fitment and Compatibility
This PP004 covers the ZX-6R across its 2003 to 2016 run; given how long that span is, confirm your exact year before ordering. The matching PF08 front sliders and TP077 crash pads suit the same bike, covering the other points most exposed in a paddock tip-over.
Road Approval
Accossato supplies no German ABE or similar approval paperwork for the PP004, so we offer this pair for racing and competition use on this model rather than for everyday road riding.
Scope of Delivery
