DescriptionThe whole story▼
When the front discs of an Aprilia RSV4 RR reach the end of their life, the pads are rarely far behind, and doing both at once is the tidy way to handle the job. The RSV4 RR is the superbike many riders choose for road and track alike, and its front brakes see plenty of work either way. Listed for the RSV4 RR from 2015 to 2021, the DKS032 is a floating disc of Accossato's Elite line with a black carrier and logo rivets, and it replaces one original front disc.
Key Features
- Accossato Elite floating front disc for the Aprilia RSV4 RR, 2015 to 2021
- 330 mm outer diameter, 64 mm inner diameter
- 5.5 mm friction ring on a black carrier
- Rivets marked with the Accossato logo
- Minimum thickness printed on the disc
- Supplied singly; the RSV4 RR has two front discs
- No German ABE on record, for the racetrack
Construction and Material Quality
At 330 mm in diameter and 5.5 mm thick, the friction ring of the DKS032 is riveted to a black carrier that locates on the wheel through a 64 mm centre bore. The Accossato logo on the rivets identifies the Elite line. Accossato's own description stresses precise tolerances between ring and carrier and a carefully chosen raw material, and the company credits the know-how behind both to Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3 competition.
Discs and Pads as One Job
Old pads have worn into the shape of the old disc, including its grooves and its lip, so on a fresh, flat ring they touch only at their high spots until they wear in again. That costs bite and can bring noise. New pads on a worn disc have the opposite problem: they bed into a surface that is already past its prime. Fitting new pads with new discs gives both parts a clean start and allows a proper bedding-in. The same logic applies from one side to the other. The RSV4 RR stops with two front discs and two calipers, and if one disc is new while the other is half worn, the two sides grip differently. For that reason most workshops renew both discs together. Choose a pad compound suited to how you ride, road or track, and keep the new parts free of grease and fingerprints until the first stops are done.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list includes the RSV4 1000 RR from 2015 to 2021, the RSV4 1000 RR Factory from 2017 to 2021 and the RSV4 1100 RR from 2017 to 2021. On each of them the DKS032 replaces an original front disc. The price covers one disc, so a full set for the RSV4 RR means ordering two. Compare the dimensions with your present disc before fitting.
Road Approval
As no German ABE and no type approval are documented, the DKS032 is sold for use on closed tracks.
