DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every pad change or fluid change on a Street Triple 765 R ends with the same job: making sure the brake lever feels right before the first ride. Over a span of six model years, that job comes round more than once. The EDF035 is Accossato's machined aluminium brake lever for the 765 R, listed from 2017 to 2022. It works with the original master cylinder and has an adjustable reach, so the blade can be set up afresh whenever the brakes have been serviced.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Triumph Street Triple 765 R, 2017 to 2022
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Reach adjustable near the pivot
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Black hub, blade in seven colours
- Standard approximately 138 mm; short blade in five colours, long in four
- Rigid, one-piece blade
Construction and Material Quality
CNC machining turns aluminium into the EDF035, and anodising finishes it: black for the hub with its pivot and reach adjuster, a colour of your choice for the blade. There is no hinge anywhere along it. Because nothing but the pivot moves, the lever itself stays consistent through years of use, so any change you feel at the blade points to the brake system rather than to the lever.
After a Brake Service
When new pads are fitted, the caliper pistons are pushed back to make room for them. The first pull of the lever afterwards may travel almost to the grip before anything happens, which is why the lever must be pumped until it is firm before the bike moves at all. After a fluid change the same applies, and the lever should also be checked for any sponginess, which can point to air in the system. New pads need bedding in as well: a series of moderate stops from moderate speed, without heavy braking, until they bite evenly. Different pad compounds can also feel different at the lever, some biting sharply, others building up more gradually. Once everything is firm and consistent, check the reach of the EDF035 again and adjust it to the new feel if needed. On the Street Triple 765 R it is worth making this check a fixed part of every brake service, whether you do the work yourself or a workshop does it for you.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list gives the EDF035 for the Street Triple 765 R from 2017 to 2022, on the original master cylinder. For 2017 and 2018, a second brake lever, the EDF011, is listed as well, so owners of those years should compare their original lever with the photos of both. The EST333P clutch lever is listed for the 765 R of 2017 and 2018 only.
Road Approval
The EDF035 comes without a documented German ABE; we therefore sell it for the track.
