DescriptionThe whole story▼
CE-certified to Category II under EN 13634 and worn by MotoGP champions, the Dainese Axial 2 Air delivers race-grade protection with airflow engineering that keeps you focused on the line, not the heat. This black and white colourway pairs the highest safety credentials in the range with a sharp, aggressive aesthetic built for both the track and the road.
Key Features
- CE Category II certified to EN 13634 — the highest protection class for motorcycle boots, independently verified and built into every pair
- D-Axial System constructed from carbon and aramid fibre guards the foot and ankle against torsion forces in the event of a crash
- Removable and replaceable magnesium heel cap and ankle protectors maintain long-term protective integrity — replace components without replacing the boot
- Axial Distortion Control System in Kevlar-carbon resists destructive twisting loads at speed
- Perforated shaft combined with a Double Jersey Airgap lining creates active airflow throughout the boot, essential on hot track days
- IN-construction with hook-and-loop fastening integrates seamlessly with Dainese one-piece racing suits for a gap-free connection at the ankle
Construction and Materials
The upper is built from perforated microfibre and D-Stone fabric — a combination chosen for its balance of abrasion resistance, flexibility and low weight. Perforated leather panels amplify breathability while a nylon heel counter and reinforced nylon toe box add structural rigidity where it matters most. A TPU gear-change guard on the shift zone resists wear through thousands of gear changes without adding bulk.
Performance on Track and Road
The asymmetric Groundtrax racing sole provides optimised grip across a wide range of surfaces and is engineered to withstand the heat generated during sustained track use — relevant whether you are pushing through back-to-back sessions at a circuit or navigating a summer sportsbike tour. An internal lacing system delivers a precise, locked-down fit, while flexible joint zones allow the natural movement your footwork demands without compromising lateral support. The rear zip closure has been updated on the Axial 2 Air to be both more practical and more robust than its predecessor.
Replaceable Slider System
Magnesium sliders are fitted at both the toe and heel, and the entire system is designed for replacement rather than retirement. When sliders wear, the boot continues. Compatible replacement slider kits available separately:
- 1999948 — Boot Magnesium Slider Kit
- 1999885 — Boot Stainless Steel Slider Kit
- 1999954 — Boot Plastic Slider Kit 16
Ventilation and Thermal Comfort
The Axial 2 Air is the ventilated member of the Axial 2 family, purpose-designed for warm-weather riding. The Double Jersey Airgap lining creates a thermal buffer that circulates air across the foot, while the perforated construction of the shaft maximises passive airflow at all speeds. The result is a race boot that remains genuinely wearable across long summer track days without sacrificing a single point of protection.
Fitment and Compatibility
Designed for male riders. The IN-construction ankle interface is compatible with the full range of Dainese racing suits featuring the corresponding IN-boot connection system. Available in European sizes 39 through 47.
