Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – KTM 390 Duke (2017–2026) PM200S

A single cylinder does not sip air, it gulps it. Every intake stroke on the 390 Duke is one big pulse rather than the smooth overlapping draw of a multi-cylinder engine, which is exactly the condition under which a restrictive filter costs you most. The Sprint Filter P08 PM200S replaces the standard paper element with a dry polyester medium built to pass a constant, calibrated volume of air — and Sprint Filter was the official air filter supplier to KTM's entire Moto3 effort in 2014, 2015 and 2016, machines built around the same single-cylinder logic.

Why a single cylinder rewards a better filter

On a 373 cc single there is no reserve to hide a restriction behind. The engine breathes in distinct, forceful pulses, and the filter has to deliver each one without hesitation. Sprint Filter's polyester fabric is permeable and dimensionally stable, and it is unaffected by the folding used to build the element, so the passage stays even across the whole surface. The OEM paper element behaves the opposite way over time: as it loads with dirt its pleats deform, and a deformed pleat cannot pass a constant volume of air.

The filter that survives your next KTM

The PM200S is not specific to the 390. The same element fits the 125, 200 and 250 Duke, the RC 125, RC 390 and RC 390 R, the 250 and 390 Adventure, and Husqvarna's Svartpilen and Vitpilen. If you move up inside that family — and a lot of 390 Duke owners do — the filter moves with you. Buy it once.

Care and cleaning

Blow an air jet through the element against the normal intake direction and most of what it has collected comes straight out. Nothing needs washing or drying, so it goes back in immediately — useful on a bike people actually ride hard and often. For a heavily loaded element use compressed air first, then soak in ordinary household detergent, agitate gently, rinse until the water runs clear and air dry completely. Never oil it.
