Sprint Filter lists two media for the Rally 300 and puts them a long way apart. This one is the road and track specification, 80 microns at 5,050 l/m²/sec; the other is the T12 for extreme going, 7 microns at 560. Nothing sits in between, so the choice is genuinely about the air you spend your hours in and not about which element is the better one — finer always retains more and flows less, and that trade runs in both directions. Neither of them makes a 300 single quicker, whatever a catalogue photograph suggests. What the woven version offers a mostly road-ridden Rally is low intake resistance that returns to where it started at every clean.

Care and cleaning

An air line does the routine work: apply it to the clean face and blow the dirt back outwards, never inwards. For deeper soiling, hand-wash the element in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and rinse it until the water is clear. Then let it dry completely in the air, without a radiator, a heat gun or a flame anywhere near it, and install it dry and untreated.
