DescriptionThe whole story▼

Country lanes in autumn are dirtier than any motorway. Tractors leave earth across the tarmac at every field entrance, wet leaves gather in the shaded corners, and a rain shower turns the whole mixture into something a tyre struggles to read. An F800GS is at its most useful on roads like these, and its rear brake spends the season working in the muck. Accossato's Sintered (ST) version of the AGPP91 pad is built for that, listed for the BMW F800GS from 2008 to 2018.

Key Features

  • Sintered (ST) rear pads, article number AGPP91ST, BMW F800GS
  • Model years 2008 to 2018, rear wheel
  • Accossato describes a constant grip level from cold and from hot
  • Continues to bite when the disc is wet
  • Two pads in a box, the supply for one rear caliper
  • The Organic (OR) material fills the same shape for lighter duty
  • Front brake of this machine: the AGPA92 pad, 2008 to 2018
  • No approval documents on record; supplied for the circuit

Construction and Material Quality

The sintered filling exists for riders whose plans do not bend to the forecast. Accossato describes its grip as high and unchanging across the temperature range, with water on the friction ring making no great difference to the result, and adds that the material keeps its own heat within limits. At the rear wheel that predictability is the whole point. A pedal whose effect varies with the weather encourages a rider to press harder to find out what is happening, and finding out at the wrong moment on a greasy surface is how a rear wheel ends up sliding. Two pads come in the box, filling the single caliper.

Earth and Leaves on the Tarmac

Autumn lanes demand a different reading of the road surface. The dangerous stretches are the shaded ones, where damp never lifts, and the exits of field gateways, where mud sits in a band across the carriageway. Use the rear brake early and lightly in those places, get the slowing done before the bend rather than in it, and treat painted markings and drain covers as ice until proven otherwise. Two maintenance points follow from a season of this. Rinse the rear of the bike more often than you would in summer, because agricultural dirt holds moisture against the caliper, and look at the friction material before winter, since grit-laden roads shorten a pad's life without any heat being involved at all.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato catalogues the AGPP91 for the rear wheel of the BMW F800GS between 2008 and 2018. There is one caliper at the back, so one box does it, and both pads should be renewed together even when only one has worn noticeably. At the front the AGPA92 pad covers the same model years. Owners who take the bike onto real dirt will find an off-road material in this same outline, and there is no Accossato disc listed for the F800GS.

Road Approval

We have no German ABE and no other approval paperwork for the AGPP91ST. The pad is sold for track and competition riding, plainly and without qualification.

Scope of Delivery

A set of two AGPP91 pads in the Sintered (ST) compound, boxed for the rear caliper.
