DescriptionThe whole story▼

Many enduro falls happen without any riding at all. You stop to wait for a friend or look for the trail, put your left foot down and find no ground beneath it, because there is a hole, a ditch or a steep drop where you expected earth. The KTM 450 XC-W then goes over to the left, slowly and unstoppably. That is the fall the C7303 is made for: Accossato's clutch lever for the 450 XC-W of 2014 to 2016 has a long four-finger blade that can fold forward when the bike lands on it.

Key Features

  • Folding clutch lever for the KTM 450 XC-W, 2014 to 2016
  • Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mount
  • Long blade for four fingers
  • Joint allows the blade to tip forward instead of breaking
  • Machined from Ergal 7075 in Italy
  • Blade in black or orange on a dark base
  • Supplied as a single lever
  • No German ABE documented; for off-road use

Construction and Material Quality

The joint is what the C7303 is built around. It connects a dark base, which stays on the clutch pivot, with a blade in black or orange that can fold forward when struck. Both parts are CNC-machined in Italy from solid Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy Accossato chooses for strength, low weight and reliability. The blade is long, as on all Accossato off-road clutch levers, so four fingers can share the pull.

The Hole Under Your Boot

Why the left foot? Because the right foot usually stays on the rear brake pedal when you stop, so it is the left leg that reaches for the ground. That makes the left side of the bike, and the clutch lever on it, a frequent victim of standstill falls. They look harmless, but a heavy four-stroke toppling from a standstill lands with its full weight on the bar end and the lever, and if there is a stone in the wrong place, a solid lever breaks.

The simplest prevention is to look before you dab: stop where the ground is flat and firm, or keep both feet on the pegs and balance for a moment. If the bike is going anyway, let it go; stepping clear is wiser than trying to hold a heavy machine and twisting a knee. The joint of the C7303 then lets the blade fold forward rather than take the full load, which gives it a fair chance of surviving. Afterwards, check that the clutch still works properly before you set off again, particularly if the KTM 450 XC-W landed on rock.

Fitment and Compatibility

The C7303 is listed by Accossato for the KTM 450 XC-W from 2014 to 2016 and fits the original clutch mount. For the same years, the B8303 folding brake lever is available for the right side. The clutch lever is offered in black or orange and the brake lever in black or gold, which leaves black as the colour both have in common.

Road Approval

There is no documented German ABE for the C7303. It is meant for off-road riding and competition.
