How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears. At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head.
Make sure the tape sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result, then compare the value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat
- Keep the tape horizontal, along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes: usually choose the larger size
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without uncomfortable pressure points. A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

The MT Cosmo SV is MT Helmets' 2024-generation demi-jet — an open-face helmet designed from the outset to redefine safety, comfort and quality in its class, and to surpass ECE 22.06 even with every accessory fitted. Wearing the Layout A1 graphic — a gloss grey shell lifted by energetic orange accents, it brings genuinely high-end features to the open-face segment: a patented quick-change visor system, a full drop-down sun visor, active ventilation with colour-matched vents, a tool-free removable rear deflector and intercom pre-installation.
Key Features
- ECE 22.06 and DOT certified — surpasses the standard even with all accessories fitted, including the UCS MT-Rider Sync intercom
- HIRP (High Impact Resistant Polymer) shell, MT headline weight approx. 1.5 kg
- Extended MT-V-37 visor with the patented MT-QVSS tool-free quick visor-swap system
- Full-coverage drop-down sun visor developed under MT-ESP (Extended Sunvisor Protection)
- Active ventilation — front intakes and a rear exhaust, with colour-matched vent pieces
- Tool-free removable rear deflector to fine-tune airflow and noise
- MT-Micrometric+ closure with a minimum two-tooth anchorage
- Fully removable, washable interior; UCS MT-Rider Sync intercom pre-installation
Shell and Safety
The Cosmo SV is built on an HIRP (High Impact Resistant Polymer) shell — a high-strength thermoplastic tuned for a strong impact-resistance-to-weight ratio. It is homologated to ECE 22.06 and approved to DOT, and MT states it was designed to surpass ECE 22.06 with all of its optional accessories installed, including the UCS MT-Rider Sync intercom. The MT-Micrometric+ buckle guarantees a minimum two-tooth anchorage for a precise, glove-friendly, reliable fastening every time.
Extended Visor and MT-QVSS
The large MT-V-37 visor is the Cosmo SV's signature — an extended screen made from high-resistance, optically precise polycarbonate that gives a wide, distortion-free field of view and adds real coverage for an open-face. Its standout feature is MT-QVSS (Quick Visor Swap System), MT's patented mechanism that lets you remove and refit the visor in seconds, completely tool-free. A clear visor is supplied as standard; smoked and mirrored MT-V-37 visors are available as optional extras.
Integrated Sun Visor
A full-coverage internal sun visor drops down on a slider to cut glare, then retracts fully into the shell. It is developed under MT-ESP (Extended Sunvisor Protection) for maximum coverage — sun protection the instant you need it, without swapping the main visor or reaching for sunglasses.
Ventilation
The Cosmo SV uses an active ventilation system with front intakes channelling air inward and a rear exhaust drawing it out. A nice detail usually reserved for higher-end helmets: the ventilation pieces are painted in the helmet's final colour, so the vents integrate cleanly into the design rather than sitting on top of it.
Removable Rear Deflector and EcoConscious Design
A tool-free removable rear deflector lets you fine-tune airflow and wind behaviour to taste. The Cosmo SV is also built to an EcoConscious brief — components are designed to be easily dismantled and replaced, so parts that wear (interior, visor, vents) can be renewed instead of replacing the whole helmet.
An Honest Word on What This Helmet Is
The Cosmo SV is an open-face (jet) helmet, and it's worth being clear about what that means. It gives you the open, airy, easy-on-easy-off experience that makes jets ideal for city, scooter and relaxed touring riding — but by design it does not cover the chin and jaw like a full-face, and open-face helmets are inherently breezier and noisier at higher speeds. It is homologated to ECE 22.06 and DOT for road use; it is not a race helmet. None of this is a flaw — it is the honest character of a premium jet built for real-world urban and touring riding.
Comfort, Interior and Intercom
The interior is fully removable and washable, which keeps a helmet you wear every day fresh and hygienic. The Cosmo SV comes with UCS MT-Rider Sync intercom pre-installation and speaker pockets, so adding communication is straightforward and keeps a clean external line — and MT tested the helmet's ECE 22.06 homologation with the intercom fitted.
Design and Colour — The Layout A1 gloss finish
Layout A1 pairs a gloss grey base with bright orange graphic accents — a contemporary, high-energy combination that stays wearable thanks to the neutral grey ground. The orange picks out the Cosmo SV's lines and the colour-matched vents keep it all tied together.
Grey and orange is a modern, sporty pairing that reads as premium rather than flashy — the orange adds warmth and visibility while the grey keeps it grown-up. Under gloss the contrast really pops. A strong pick for riders who want colour without going all-in on a single bold hue.
Finding Your Size
The Cosmo SV in this colourway is available in XS–XXL. Measure your head circumference with a soft tape about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, around the widest part of the skull, and compare it with the size chart linked on this page. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger for everyday comfort.
Approved Use
The MT Cosmo SV is a unisex open-face (jet) helmet homologated to ECE 22.06 and DOT, designed for urban, scooter and touring riding.
