DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Suomy SR-GP Evo in the Infrared Matte Grey/Red/Black colourway is a helmet that makes its statement before a wheel turns. Deep matte grey flows into razor-edged red and black graphics — a graphic identity drawn directly from Suomy's MotoGP paddock heritage, rendered here in a refined satin finish that reads as purposeful rather than showy. This is the SR-GP Evo for riders who want championship-derived technology wearing the most striking livery in the range.
Key Features
- Tricarboco composite shell — carbon fibre, Kevlar fibre, fibreglass and aramid resins combine for exceptional impact absorption with a weight of approx. 1,450 g ±50 g (size M)
- Four shell sizes across the size range for a precise, performance fit rather than a one-shell-fits-all compromise
- Drag coefficient of Cx 0.39 with an integrated rear spoiler for genuine aerodynamic downforce at speed
- 92° vertical and 210° horizontal field of vision — one of the widest views available in a full-face racing helmet
- Optical Class 1 visor with tool-free visor change and a metallic racing lock system
- Pinlock MaxVision 120 anti-fog insert included as standard
- Hypoallergenic, fully removable and washable interior with emergency quick-release cheek pads and Camel-Bag compatibility
Design, Finish and Heritage
Suomy has supplied helmets to Grand Prix champions for decades, and the SR-GP Evo carries that lineage in every line of its silhouette. The Infrared graphic was developed as a flagship colourway: the matte grey base resists glare and fingerprints on track, while the red and black accents echo the high-contrast liveries that have appeared at the front of MotoGP grids. Unlike gloss finishes, the matte surface ages gracefully and retains its depth through a full season of use.
The shell itself is the result of Suomy's Tricarboco construction — a multilayer composite of carbon fibre, Kevlar fibre, fibreglass and aramid-reinforced resins that is hand-laid and autoclave-cured. The outcome is a shell with outstanding resistance to both torsion and vibration, and with exceptional energy absorption in the event of an impact. Four distinct shell sizes mean the EPS liner is always correctly proportioned to the shell, avoiding the fit compromises common in helmets that use only two shell sizes across the full range.
Aerodynamics
With a drag coefficient of Cx 0.39, the SR-GP Evo ranks among the most aerodynamically efficient full-face helmets on the market. The integrated rear spoiler generates measurable downforce at track speeds, reducing neck fatigue during sustained high-speed sections. Wind tunnel refinement is visible in every surface transition — there are no styling details that conflict with the aerodynamic brief. The result is a helmet that feels planted and stable at any speed a road or circuit is likely to demand.
Visibility
The visor aperture delivers 92° of vertical vision and 210° of horizontal vision — a field of view wide enough to spot apex markers in deep lean and to track fast-closing traffic in peripheral vision. The visor itself is rated Optical Class 1 for distortion-free clarity, features a variable-thickness construction to resist scratch damage, and changes without tools via a tool-free release mechanism. The metallic racing lock system holds the visor sealed against buffeting and pressure changes at speed. The included Pinlock MaxVision 120 insert eliminates fogging even in rain, low temperatures and the humidity generated by hard physical effort on track.
Ventilation
Five large intake vents — positioned at the forehead and chin — channel fresh air through optimised EPS ducting and exhaust it through two aerodynamic rear outlets. A Venturi effect accelerates extraction, keeping the interior cooler than simple passive ventilation. The system was developed for racing conditions, where sustained high output generates significant head heat over a race distance.
Interior and Retention
The interior is lined with hypoallergenic, breathable high-tech fabrics that wick moisture rapidly and dry quickly between sessions. The full liner is removable and machine washable. Emergency quick-release cheek pads allow first responders to remove the helmet safely without rotating it. A Camel-Bag compatible channel accommodates a hydration system for endurance track use. The chin strap uses a double-D ring — the retention standard mandated by racing regulations worldwide — for a secure, precise and repeatable fit.

For a racing fit, the helmet should feel snug on first wear without creating pressure points. Cheek pads and liners will bed in slightly over the first few hours of use.
