DescriptionThe whole story

Carrying the DNA of Puig's MotoGP and WorldSBK programmes, the R-Racer windscreen for the Yamaha YZF-R3 (2019–2026) arrives with full ABE approval (ABE 38182) and TÜV certification – giving you race-derived aerodynamics that are unconditionally legal for road use across Europe.

Key Features

  • Road-legal with ABE approval 38182 and TÜV sign-off – complete documentation included in the box
  • CFD-optimised profile improves the drag coefficient (Cx), deflects turbulence away from helmet and upper body, and reduces fatigue at speed
  • Double-height design with lateral cutaways channels airflow outward, cutting shoulder and torso loading
  • 3 mm PMMA high-performance acrylic: impact-resistant, UV-stable and optically clear
  • 2 mm rounded edges for maximum safety and a smooth, premium finish
  • Plug-and-play fitment using the original OEM bolts – no additional hardware required, approximately 15 minutes to install
  • Precision manufacture verified by an optical inspection system at Puig's Barcelona facility

Aerodynamics Engineered by CFD

Every curve of the R-Racer profile has been validated through virtual wind-tunnel (CFD) simulation before a single mould is cut. The result is a measurably better aerodynamic coefficient, more effective wind deflection from the helmet and chest, and noticeably improved comfort when the YZF-R3 is being pushed hard on an open road or a circuit. The extended height – 20 mm taller than the stock screen – and the characteristic lateral notches redirect turbulent air outward, reducing the buffeting and fatigue that can compromise concentration and control over long stints.

Materials and Build Quality

The screen is formed from 3 mm PMMA acrylic chosen for its combination of impact resistance, low weight and long-term optical clarity. UV stabilisers protect the material from yellowing or hazing over years of direct sun exposure, so the screen stays as clear on day one thousand as it was on day one. Every edge is finished to a 2 mm radius, eliminating sharp corners for the safety of both rider and bodywork. Before leaving the factory each screen passes through Puig's optical control system, ensuring zero distortion and consistent wall thickness across the full surface.

Fitment and Compatibility

The Puig R-Racer windscreen is designed exclusively for the following model:

  • Yamaha YZF-R3 – model years 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026

Installation is a true plug-and-play process: remove the original screen, locate the R-Racer using the factory mounting points and secure it with the OEM bolts already on the bike. No drilling, no adapters, no specialist tools. Budget around 15 minutes.

Available Variants

  • Clear – REF. 3737W
  • Light tint – REF. 3737H
  • Dark tint – REF. 3737F
  • Black – REF. 3737N
