- Dimension B 11 mm
Where It Sits
Dimensionally this is 6.2 mm, 11 mm, 8 mm, which is how it is told apart from the rest of the range. A spacer that is a millimetre short changes the preload on a shim stack, and with it the damping. Öhlins specifies thread-locking compound by position; not every fastener wants it. A plug that seals a gas port is a pressure part despite its size.
Genuine Service Part
The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. The part is identical to what Öhlins fits in production — same supplier, same specification. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it.
Getting the Number Right
20047-02 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. dimension a 6.2 mm, dimension b 11 mm, dimension c 8 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Its length is a specification, not a filler — a millimetre changes what the unit does. Shoulder screws set a clearance as well as clamping, which is why the length is exact.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
