DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ACCGP DU020 fits the SuperSport 939 with the GP Series' progressive spring and plug and play sensor, giving a sport-touring V-twin whose semi-sport riding position already asks a good deal of the wrist a throttle stroke cut to 60 degrees without needing any permanent change to the bike.
Key Features
- Ducati SuperSport 939 (2017–2020)
- GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
Sport, With Touring in Mind
The SuperSport 939 sits between a full sportbike crouch and a naked's upright stance, with clip-ons set higher and further back than a Panigale's, aimed at riders who want sporty handling without giving up the ability to ride comfortably for a few hours at a time. A shorter throttle stroke suits exactly that middle ground, trimming effort without changing the bike's sporting intent.
Where the Wrist Already Works Harder
The semi-sport riding position puts more weight through the wrist than an upright naked would, even if less than a full sportbike crouch, and that extra load makes every degree of unnecessary throttle rotation more noticeable over a longer ride. Cutting the stroke to 60 degrees removes some of that unnecessary rotation directly.
Low-Rev Precision
The L-twin in the 939 delivers much of its usable torque lower in the rev range than a highly strung sportbike engine would, which suits road riding more than circuit laps and rewards precise, deliberate throttle inputs rather than broad sweeping ones. A shorter stroke makes those precise inputs easier to repeat consistently.
The Spring's Progressive Push
Rather than offering constant resistance throughout its travel, the GP Series spring stiffens progressively as the throttle approaches full opening, giving a clearer physical sense of where the throttle sits without the rider needing to check a dash readout for it.
A Sensor That Reports as Usual
The GP Series' integrated sensor communicates with the 939's existing electronics exactly as the factory part does, so nothing about the bike's fuel mapping or any rider aids changes beyond the mechanical feel of the throttle itself. A short diagnostic relearn after fitting is the only step needed.
Keeping the Door Open
Because the kit installs without cutting into the SuperSport's wiring or permanently altering its factory cable run, an owner who later wants to return to the standard throttle, for sale or any other reason, can do so with no trace of the change left behind.
