Track & Road Performance
Reducing unsprung and rotating mass simultaneously has a compounding effect on a motorcycle's dynamics. The RAPID TEK set sharpens the YZF-R1's already-exceptional handling by lowering gyroscopic resistance, which translates into quicker direction changes at corner entry, reduced steering effort mid-corner and improved stability at high speed on both circuit and road. The validated load ratings — a front radial load of 855 lbs / 388 kg and a rear radial load of 994 lbs / 451 kg — confirm that these wheels are engineered for the extreme forces generated during hard track sessions, not just fast road riding.
Construction Detail
BST manufactures the RAPID TEK using autoclave-cured pre-preg carbon fibre — the same process used in MotoGP and aerospace applications — ensuring consistent fibre orientation and resin content in every wheel. The 6082 T6 aluminium hub is machined from billet for dimensional accuracy and anodised for corrosion resistance. The interface between hub and rim is engineered to transfer the significant torsional and lateral loads generated by a 200-horsepower superbike without flex or fatigue.
