DescriptionThe whole story▼
The rear brake on a Yamaha MT-07 is a quiet worker. It steadies the bike in slow traffic, holds it on a hill start and helps tidy a line through a roundabout, rarely doing anything dramatic. Accossato's AGPP88OR is the rear pad for the MT-07 from 2014 to 2026 in the Organic (OR) compound, a good match for riders who use the back brake gently and often, whether they are filtering through town, practising slow manoeuvres for a licence test or simply commuting.
Key Features
- Rear pads for the Yamaha MT-07, model years 2014 to 2026
- Article AGPP88OR: the AGPP88 shape in Organic (OR) compound
- Accossato cites long service life and reduced disc wear
- Suited to slow-speed control, commuting and learner riding
- Two pads per box, which covers the single rear caliper
- The AGPP88 is also listed in the ST compound
- Front pads for the same bike: AGPA97
- Offered for track and competition; no German ABE on record
Construction and Material Quality
The AGPP88 is Accossato's rear pad for the MT-07, and this version uses the organic material. According to the manufacturer, it keeps performing over a long period and treats the disc kindly, which is exactly what a rear brake that is dragged gently many times a day needs. There are two compounds for this shape: organic and sintered. This is the softer, disc-friendly one. Accossato's general aims of slow wear and controlled heat apply to it as well.
Slow Riding, Steady Rear
Low-speed control on a motorcycle depends heavily on the back brake. Riding a tight U-turn on an MT-07, the technique is to keep a little throttle, slip the clutch and use light rear brake to hold the bike steady, and that asks for a pad that responds finely rather than grabbing. The same applies when creeping through traffic or walking pace in a car park. An organic rear pad is well suited to this delicate work and remains quiet in use. It also works from cold without complaint, which is how rear brakes usually operate in town. Rear pads wear more slowly than fronts on most road bikes, but they are also easier to forget, so glance at the remaining material whenever the chain is adjusted and check the disc for scoring.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list pairs the AGPP88 with the rear caliper of the Yamaha MT-07 for 2014 to 2026; the front calipers take the AGPA97. One box is enough for the rear, as the MT-07 has a single rear caliper. Clean around the piston before pushing it back, look at the disc for wear and grooves, and check the rear reservoir level. Accossato also offers the DK077 and DKS073 discs for this model. After refitting, press the pedal several times until it is firm, then bed the pads in on a quiet road.
Road Approval
No German ABE or test certificate for this rear pad is available to us, so the AGPP88OR is offered for track and competition purposes.
Scope of Delivery
Two Accossato AGPP88 pads in Organic (OR) compound in one box, the full set for the MT-07's rear caliper.
