DescriptionThe whole story▼

Clutch control is the skill new riders practise most in their first months, and the Scrambler Sixty2, with its manageable engine and relaxed position, is a bike many of them learn it on. The Accossato ESC012 is the clutch lever Accossato lists for the Sixty2 from 2016 to 2021. Machined from aluminium, it is fitted to the original clutch mounting and can be adjusted in its distance to the grip, so the lever sits where a learning hand finds it without searching.

Key Features

  • Clutch lever for the Scrambler Sixty2, 2016 to 2021
  • Fits the original clutch mounting
  • Distance to the grip adjustable
  • Standard length in all seven colours
  • Short blade in blue, gold and green; long blade in blue, green and orange
  • CNC-machined aluminium, black anodised hub
  • Rigid construction, no folding joint
  • No German ABE documented, sold for track use

Construction and Material Quality

The ESC012 is CNC-machined from solid aluminium and anodised, with a black hub and a coloured blade. Its range differs from most Accossato levers in this shop: every colour is made in the standard length, a short blade exists in blue, gold and green, and a long one in blue, green and orange. Silver, black and red come in the standard length only. Accossato gives no length figure for this clutch lever. Like the brake lever for the Sixty2, it is a fixed design without a folding joint.

Learning the Biting Point

The biting point is where the clutch starts to transmit drive, and a new rider has to find it hundreds of times before it becomes automatic. It helps when the lever is placed so that the fingers can work it without the hand leaving the grip. Set the ESC012 so that, with your hand relaxed, your fingers rest on the blade. Then practise in a quiet car park: pull the lever in, select first, and let it out slowly until the Sixty2 begins to creep, then pull in again. Repeat until you can feel the point without looking down. A long blade lightens the pull for hands that are not yet used to the effort, while the standard length stays closest to the original feel. Once the movement is automatic, the setting can be refined, and some riders then bring the blade a little further out again.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the ESC012 for the Scrambler Sixty2 from 2016 to 2021 under a Scrambler 400 Sixty2 reference, and it replaces the original clutch lever on the standard mounting. On the brake side, the EDB012 covers the same years with a wider choice of lengths, so the two levers can be ordered in a matching colour.

Road Approval

As no German ABE is documented for the ESC012, it is sold for track use.
