DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Nexx X.R3R in Swirl Carbon Red Silver is a helmet built around a singular design philosophy: let the material speak first. Exposed carbon weave, sweeping swirl graphics in red and silver, and a silhouette refined in the wind tunnel combine to produce one of the most visually arresting helmets in the X.R3R range — and one of the most technically accomplished.
Key Features
- X-PRO carbon shell constructed from over 60% carbon fibre — exceptional rigidity at minimal weight, approximately 1,350 g ± 50 g
- Race-tuned aerodynamics with an integrated spoiler, near-zero dynamic lift at speed and minimal turbulence for a stable, composed ride at high velocity
- Air Dynamic System: 6 intake vents and 4 exhaust vents with Speed-Flow chin ventilation for balanced, vibration-free airflow
- Wide-aperture Lexan-PC visor with scratch-resistant coating, X-LOCK magnetic closure and distortion-free optics
- X-Mart Dry interior liner — breathable, antibacterial, ergonomically shaped, and fully removable and washable
- ECE 22-06 certified, Double-D-ring retention, Emergency Strap System for rapid liner removal, and a multi-layer energy-absorbing shell
Design, Finish and Heritage
Nexx has always treated the surface of the X.R3R as a canvas rather than an afterthought. The Swirl Carbon Red Silver colourway takes that approach to its logical extreme: the raw carbon structure is left visible across the crown and sides, framed by flowing swirl lines that move between deep red and polished silver. The result is a graphic identity with real kinetic energy — colour that appears to shift as the light catches it — rooted in Nexx's motorsport heritage and their long-standing commitment to in-house design.
Three separate shell sizes are used across the size run, meaning the helmet's proportions stay correct whether you order an XS or an XXL. That attention to detail is what separates a purpose-built racing helmet from an off-the-shelf compromise.
Aerodynamics and Structural Performance
The X-PRO shell is shaped to generate near-zero dynamic weight in the airstream, so the helmet does not fight you at motorway pace or on a fast open road. The integrated rear spoiler adds further stability, suppressing lift and reducing the micro-vibrations that cause fatigue on longer runs. With reduced air turbulence around the chin and nape, the X.R3R stays planted and quiet precisely when composure matters most.
Ventilation
Six intakes draw fresh air across the crown, brow and chin, while four exhaust ports evacuate warm air from the rear. The Speed-Flow chin vent delivers a focused stream directly across the face, keeping the interior comfortable in high summer and during hard, sustained riding. Airflow distribution is designed to be even, avoiding the hot spots and whistling that plague less carefully engineered lids.
Visor and Visibility
The oversized Lexan-PC visor gives a wide field of view with no peripheral restriction. The scratch-resistant surface maintains optical clarity over time, and the X-LOCK magnetic closure allows one-handed operation at the roadside or in the pits. The visor seats flush with zero distortion across the full viewing area — a detail that matters acutely when reading the road at speed.
Safety
The X.R3R meets ECE 22-06 — the current European standard — and backs its certification with a Double-D-ring chin strap, a multi-layer energy-absorbing shell, and Nexx's Emergency Strap System, which allows paramedics to remove the interior padding without disturbing the rider's head or neck in a first-response scenario.
Interior Comfort
The X-Mart Dry liner works at twice the drying rate of conventional fabrics. Its antibacterial treatment keeps the interior fresh through extended use, the ergonomic cut distributes pressure evenly around the head, and the entire assembly comes out in seconds for machine washing. Whether the day involves a track session, a long tour or a city commute, the interior stays comfortable throughout.
