No product photo exists yet for Whizz — Shark has it in the price list, certified and ready to ship, but the camera hasn't caught up. That gap doesn't touch the helmet itself: identical shell, identical certification, identical 209.99-euro graphic-tier price as every other decor in this range. Nothing about a missing photo changes how the helmet is built, tested or sold; it simply means a buyer is choosing this colourway on the strength of the supplier's own description rather than a picture, which is why that description gets spelled out in full further down this page rather than left as a single line in a spec table.

ECE 22.06, plainly

EU rules have demanded ECE 22.06 for any newly certified helmet since January 2024, a step change from ECE 22.05. Five impact points became eighteen. One speed became several. A sideways, abrasive-surface test now checks twisting force that a straight drop test can't reach, and rotational injury data joins the classic linear number. Everything is tested built up — visor on, Pinlock and comms fitted if applicable. "2206" is stamped on the shell. Nothing else. Road-only, by design.

Neck fatigue and 1,470 grams

That's the manufacturer figure for the Ridill 2's smaller shell; go up to a mid-size M on the bigger shell and the number climbs slightly. Visordown's own scale agreed closely, putting a size-M sample at 1,474 g. None of that matters for the walk from the car to the bike. It matters three hours into a ride, when the neck alone has held that weight the whole way. Shark's road-helmet range spans roughly 1,250 g to 1,800 g; this sits well under halfway.

Construction, unaffected by the missing photo

A thermoplastic shell — "Thermoplastique" per Shark's documentation, Lexan polycarbonate per independent press — built in two sizes, so a smaller head isn't wearing an oversized shell with extra foam crammed in. Multi-density EPS grades its stiffness through the liner. A micrometric ratchet buckle closes the strap, one-handed, precise, glove-ready.

Three vents, tested hands-on (with gloves)

Independent reviewers logged a chin vent, two crown vents on one shared slider, and two rear exhausts, all workable without bare hands. Airflow: "more than adequate" day to day. The chin vent favours the visor over the rider's actual face — good for fog control, not much for personal cooling.

Visor and the Pinlock 70 gap

Optical class 1, anti-scratch, tool-free removal, Pinlock 70-ready — insert sold separately, and genuinely worth having for anything colder or wetter than a dry commute. This decor has no place in Shark's IRID photochromic lineup, which stops at the Aeron GP, Aeron and Race R Pro.

Where the colour claim actually comes from

"Black Anthracite Anthracite" is Shark's own name for this decor — a black shell, grey graphic detailing, by the supplier's own words. There's no photograph of this specific colourway published anywhere yet, so unlike the nine decors in this range that were photographed and checked, this description is taken straight from the price list and hasn't been verified against an image. That's stated here rather than hidden behind a stock photo of a different decor. The same is true for the other five decors sold without a photo in this batch — the gap is treated the same way each time, as a stated fact rather than something smoothed over with a stock image borrowed from a different colourway.

Everyday usability

Crown-slider sun visor, drop-down, no stopping required. Cheek pads cut for glasses arms. Comms-ready shell, no drilling or modification. Outer visor detaches without tools. None of these features vary by decor — they're built into the shell and liner Shark uses across the whole Ridill 2 range, which is exactly why they can be described with full confidence here even without a photograph of this specific colourway.

Sizing across the range

XS-XXL spans two shell sizes, not one shell reshaped six ways. Visordown's own test, size M, called it "very good" and "extremely comfortable" — wide opening, snug cheeks, no pinch points.

Price ladder: Ridill 2, D-Skwal 3, Skwal Cup

209.99 euro here, versus 189.99 euro for the plain colours in the same line — still the cheapest full-face family Shark sells. D-Skwal 3 starts at 219.99 euro, wind-tunnel-tested shell included. Skwal Cup opens at 269.99 euro with a CFD-shaped rear spoiler. That comparison holds regardless of which Ridill 2 decor is chosen, since the price ladder is set by the model tier, not by the individual graphic.

Noise: quoted, not invented

No decibel figure exists for this helmet. Visordown called it "a quiet helmet to use at motorway speeds" on their own test ride, still recommending earplugs for long stints, with light buffeting they described as "not horrendous". A rider's word, not a lab reading. That impression comes from Shark's own product line rather than from this specific colourway, since wind behaviour is governed by the shell shape, not the graphic on it.

Spares later on

Shark's spare-visor range names the Ridill 2 directly, grouped with the Skwal Cup, D-Skwal 3 and Skwal i3 — seven visor finishes, dark smoke to iridium to clear Pinlock-ready. That range is shared across the whole Ridill 2 line, not tied to any single decor.

Honest gaps

No MIPS. No electronic quick-release. No Pinlock insert bundled in. No chin skirt. SHARP's "Ridill 2" entry — four stars, ECE 22.06, February 2025, correct generation — carries a 549-pound RRP that plainly isn't this helmet's real price anywhere; treat that line as a SHARP data error. No FIM rating, no spoiler. No photo yet, as covered above. None of these limitations are specific to this colourway either — they apply across the entire Ridill 2 range, whether or not a photograph exists yet.
