DescriptionThe whole story▼
Savage in white, red and grey is the brightest non-fluorescent finish on this shell and the one that makes the strongest case for itself on the road rather than in a photograph.
A carbon shell in six sizes
ECE 22.06 is the current European schedule, mandatory for new helmets sold in the EU since January 2024. It tests more impact points than 22.05, adds a second lower speed, and introduced an oblique test measuring rotational acceleration.
🔵 Everything fitted is tested as fitted — visor, sun visor and vent covers included.
No rating of its own — and what does transfer from the composite
🔵 A helmet with no rating and a helmet with a poor rating are different things. One has been measured and found wanting; the other has not been measured.
This one is in the second category, and the four stars attached to the name „Vector 2" belong to the composite version.
Airflow that reaches your head
🔵 Three things on this page are left blank rather than guessed: ventilation, wind noise and long-run comfort. No independent test of the carbon version publishes any of them.
Everything else here comes from a published specification or a published test, with its limits stated.
About the Savage white, red and grey graphic
What decides how quickly a driver resolves a helmet is its value — how light it is — rather than its hue, and white sits at the top of that scale. That matters more on this helmet than on most, because six shell sizes make the Vector II Carbon noticeably compact: excellent for weight and aerodynamics, and a smaller visual target than a bulkier full-face. A pale finish recovers exactly that. The red adds edge contrast and the grey ties both to the carbon underneath, so the helmet reads as designed rather than as a bright helmet with a pattern applied. 🔵 The cost is upkeep — white shows fly strike and motorway film clearly, and it is the one finish here that will need washing on a schedule rather than when you notice. Red is also the most UV-sensitive pigment used on helmets, so keep this one out of prolonged direct sun. Set against the Savage white, blue and red at the same price, both are white-dominant and both sit near the top of the conspicuity scale. This one is the more contemporary of the two; the blue and red version carries the older racing livery. Choose on which graphic you would rather look at, because the road performance is the same.
Three visors, one helmet
🟢 Certimoov praised the field of vision on this platform specifically, which on a compact six-shell helmet is not a given — a small shell can easily mean a small aperture, and here it does not.
🔵 That praise transfers to this version, because the shell geometry is shared.
Holding on, and letting go
🔵 A loose strap is the most common way a correctly-sized helmet fails to do its job, and it is entirely within your control. The fastener here adjusts in fine steps rather than between fixed holes.
Set the length bare-handed once, and the rest is one-handed for the life of the helmet.
The part you actually touch
🔵 A new helmet should feel firm everywhere and painful nowhere. Padding compresses over the first hours and again across the first season, so the size that feels right in the shop is often one too large by the following summer.
On a six-shell helmet you have more chance of landing on exactly the right size than almost anywhere else.
Carbon or composite — which Vector II to buy
🔵 The eleven finishes divide usefully: two plain carbon, dark graphics, and pale or fluorescent graphics. Only the last group has a measurable road advantage, and on a compact shell that argument counts double.
Every one is the same helmet underneath.
Care and replacement parts
Cheek pads in other thicknesses are the most useful spare available and the least often bought. A fit that has loosened over two seasons is usually corrected with thicker pads rather than a new helmet.
🔵 The complete lining is listed separately too.
In the box
- LS2 FF811 Vector II Carbon helmet — Savage, White, red and grey over carbon (6K carbon shell)
- Clear hardcoated visor, fitted, with quick-change system
- Pinlock® 120 XLT MaxVision™ anti-fog insert
- A complete tinted visor — 🔵 daylight use only in most European jurisdictions
- Integrated drop-down sun visor, fitted
- Carrying backpack
- Reflective stickers
- 🔵 No intercom — the shell is prepared for LS2's Bluetooth unit, which is a separate purchase
Size guide
Keep a new helmet on for ten minutes before deciding. Pressure barely noticeable in the first thirty seconds is the only thing you can think about after an hour.
🔵 It should be firm everywhere and painful nowhere.

Specification
- Model — LS2 FF811 Vector II Carbon
- Part number — 168115402
- Colour — Savage — White, red and grey over carbon
- Homologation — ECE 22.06
- 🔴 Safety rating — none. SHARP's „LS2 Vector 2" 4 stars (02/2025) records composite fibre, 1.5 kg — the HPFC version, not this carbon at 1400 g. Not carried over
- 🟢 What does transfer — Certimoov rated the FF811 platform 3.5/5 on a fibreglass Splitter. Compactness and field of vision transfer (shared geometry); impact scores do not. 🔵 criticised: getting the helmet on, and the sun visor mechanism
- Shell — 6K woven carbon, structural — not a carbon-look wrap; six shell sizes (2XS–XS / S / M / L / XL / 2XL–3XL–4XL)
- Impact liner — multi-density EPS with ventilation ducts moulded through the foam
- Weight — approx. 1400 g (±50 g). 🔵 the composite Vector II is 1500 g — carbon saves 100 g at a higher price
- Sizes — XXS to 4XL (nine sizes). Shell prepared for LS2's Bluetooth unit; no system supplied
- Visor — wide, hardcoated, UV-protected, quick-change
- Sun visor — integrated drop-down shield, stowing fully inside the shell. 🔵 Certimoov called the mechanism improvable
- 🟢 Included — Pinlock® 120 XLT MaxVision™, a complete tinted visor, a carrying backpack and reflective stickers
- 🔴 Tinted visor — daylight only — most European jurisdictions bar tinted visors at night
- Ventilation — Dynamic Flow-Through — chin and forehead intakes, ducts in the EPS, rear exit. 🔵 left unrated: nothing measured on the carbon version
- 🔴 Wind noise — left unrated — no independent measurement is published for this model
- Retention — reinforced strap, micrometric metal fastener, emergency-release tabs for the cheek pads
- Interior — breathable, hypoallergenic, X-Static® silver, laser-cut, removable. 🔵 the composite Vector II is not listed with X-Static
- 🔴 FIM homologation — none — a road helmet, not eligible for FIM-sanctioned competition
- Serviceability — both visors, sun visor, Pinlock insert, cheek pads (several thicknesses), lining and vent covers
- Replacement guidance — after about five years, and immediately after any impact — carbon hides a crushed liner
