A ratio between two parts says as much about the cheaper one as about the dearer. Sprint Filter prices its F1-85 elements much the same across a great many listings, while the standard element beneath them varies from housing to housing — so the multiple a buyer sees is not really a property of the racing cloth. For the CFMOTO SR-R 675 it works out at a little over two and a half times the standard weave for the same box, a smaller step than the same pairing shows on some other machines. It is still not a reason to fit one to a road bike.
Key Features
- An 85 micron aperture at a rated 15,000 l/m²/sec — the high-flow end of the range
- Dry polyester cloth, never oiled, serviced with a compressed-air line
- Roughly double the filtering area of a conventional performance element
- Shares its fitment with the road element, so the two can be exchanged freely
- Direct replacement in the series SR-R 675 airbox, mapping left untouched
- Two years of warranty, and an element built to outlast any service interval
A multiple, not a price
Read the difference as a question about what is bought, not how much. Between these two elements for this housing, two figures move: the aperture, by five microns, and the rated flow, by a factor of three. Everything else is common to both — the dry principle, the cleaning routine, the fitment, the warranty, the expected life. So the whole of the difference has to be justified by the flow figure, and that justifies itself only where an engine genuinely draws everything the intake can deliver.
Counting the seconds it would pay for
Turn it into an estimate before ordering. Add up the time in a year during which this motorcycle is held at full throttle with the revs high enough to matter — not time spent riding briskly, but time at the stop. On a road-registered machine the answer is usually measured in minutes across a whole season, and outside those minutes the standard weave was never the restriction, so the racing cloth passes exactly the same air as the road one. On a bike doing track days the sum comes out differently, and that is the case this element was drawn for. Either way it adds nothing by itself: a drop-in filter does not make a standard SR-R 675 noticeably faster.
Care and cleaning
Both media for this housing are looked after identically, which is what makes trying one and going back to the other so straightforward. Begin with the compressor on the clean face of the SM290S F1-85, worked across the material instead of held in one spot. Water is the fallback for whatever the air leaves behind: lukewarm, a little mild detergent, a full rinse. The panel then sits in moving air until it is dry through, well away from radiators, hot-air guns and flames, and goes back into the box untreated. The maintenance sheet for the element is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
The racing element for the CFMOTO SR-R 675 of 2025 and 2026, one of three CFMOTO 675 models on this part number. The 450-class SR-S uses another housing and another code. Confirm the year in the Fitment tab before ordering.
