Size chart MT Helmets Braker SV
| Size | Head circumference (cm) | Head circumference (inch) |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm | 20.9–21.3 in |
| S | 55–56 cm | 21.7–22.0 in |
| M | 57–58 cm | 22.4–22.8 in |
| L | 59–60 cm | 23.2–23.6 in |
| XL | 61–62 cm | 24.0–24.4 in |
| XXL | 63–64 cm | 24.8–25.2 in |
| XXXL | 65–66 cm | 25.6–26.0 in |

How to measure your helmet size correctly: Measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure around the widest part of the head, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows. Measure 2–3 times and compare the value in centimetres with the chart. For values between two sizes, usually choose the larger size.
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without uncomfortable pressure points. A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

Inception C2 is a light helmet with one loud line on it: a pale silver-grey shell, a broad band of fluorescent yellow running from the chin bar along the bottom edge and up into the rear, and a gloss black spoiler on top. It is a conspicuity design that has not given up on looking like a motorcycle helmet.
Why the yellow sits where it does
Look at the helmet from the side and the fluorescent runs along the lower edge, not over the crown. That is the correct place for it, and not for styling reasons.
A driver pulling out of a side road sees you at roughly their own eye height — through a windscreen, past an A-pillar, at the level of your shoulders and jaw. The top of a helmet is often the part they never see. A bright line at the base of the shell sits in the band of their vision that actually gets used, and it is moving relative to the background, which is what triggers detection in peripheral vision.
About the Inception C2 finish
The shell is matt light grey with a slightly cooler silver in the upper panel, split by an angular white flash across the side. The fluorescent yellow forms a continuous edge from the chin bar to the tail. Spoiler, vent trims and the visor mechanism are gloss black, and the MT logo sits on the flank in white.
Matt on a light helmet is a practical choice as well as an aesthetic one: light grey shows road film quickly, and matt hides it far better than gloss does between washes.
Where the Braker SV sits
MT built the Braker SV as the entry point to their sport-touring range — the smaller sibling to the Thunder 4 SV, sharing that helmet's approach at a lower price.
What it does not do is behave like an entry-level helmet. It has a drop-down sun visor, the patented MT-QVSS visor mechanism, three air intakes, an integrated rear spoiler with an exhaust, a universal intercom mount and a nose deflector as standard. That specification would have been high-end five years ago; MT's volume is what puts it at this price.
ECE 22.06 and DOT
The Braker SV clears the current European standard, mandatory since January 2024, and additionally carries DOT for the American market.
Compared with the 22.05 it replaced, the 22.06 tests 18 impact points rather than five, at several speeds, and adds an oblique impact against an abrasive anvil to measure rotational loading — the mechanism behind diffuse brain injury, which the old standard did not measure at all. There is also a Brain Injury Criterion ceiling.
The sun visor
A single-action drop-down sun visor is built into the shell — one slider, one movement, no fumbling for a second lever.
The practical argument for an internal shade over a tinted screen is simple: it is there when the sun appears and gone when it does not, and it never leaves you riding home in the dark behind a dark visor because you did not want to stop and swap.
MT-QVSS: two buttons, no tools
The MT-QVSS mechanism releases the screen with two buttons and works in gloves. No screwdriver, no side plates to lose.
The screen is the MT-V-28B, made from high-quality polycarbonate, sealing against the shell through a rubber gasket with an adaptable lip. A smoked version is optional and not supplied.
Anti-fog: what is prepared and what is not
The MT-V-28B is prepared for Pinlock DKS435 and for the FogOff FOG010 insert.
Neither is included. We are explicit about this because "Pinlock ready" gets read as "Pinlock supplied" more often than it should. If you ride through winter, budget for the insert — a fogged visor at dusk is a genuine hazard, and no vent system solves it at a standstill.
Ventilation and the spoiler
Three intakes feed the shell; the integrated rear spoiler hides the exhaust that pulls the air back out.
The spoiler is doing two jobs. Aerodynamically it stabilises the helmet in turbulent air behind a screen — the head-shake you get on a faired bike at speed. Functionally it is the low-pressure zone that makes the through-flow work at all. A helmet with intakes and no outlet just builds pressure against your forehead.
The nose deflector nobody asks about
A nasal deflector is fitted as standard. It sits at the top of the chin bar and stops your own breath being pushed straight up the inside of the visor.
It is a €4 part that solves most of the fogging problem most of the time, and it is the first thing riders remove and then wonder why the helmet started misting. Leave it in.
Retention and interior
The buckle is MT-Micrometric+, MT's optimised ratchet. The lining is fully removable and washable, and there is a mount for a universal UCS intercom with pockets for the speakers.
Take the cheek pads out and wash them by hand two or three times a season. A pad that has been left for a year is much harder to bring back, and it is the part of the helmet in contact with your face.
What it does not have
- No independent safety rating. SHARP has not tested the Braker SV; there is no ADAC and no Snell result. Untested is not the same as badly rated, and we will not borrow the Track SV's stars for it.
- No Pinlock insert in the box — the screen is prepared for one.
- No tinted visor included. The drop-down shade covers most of it.
- No emergency cheek-pad release. The Track SV has one; the Braker does not.
In the box
