DescriptionThe whole story▼

Sharper suspension and a track-biased setup separate the 890 Duke R (2020-2023) from the standard Duke, and it asks for a throttle that matches that intent. The JP ACCGP KT016 shortens the rotation to 60 degrees, bringing hand precision up to the level the rest of the chassis already offers.

Key Features

  • KTM 890 Duke R (2020–2023)
  • GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
  • Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
  • Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
  • Standard throttle assembly refits at any time

The R Badge Means a Sharper Everything

KTM's R variants are built for riders who want a more focused version of the standard bike, and a throttle rotation inherited unchanged from the base model is the one part of the R that does not automatically earn that badge. Shortening it brings the throttle in line with the rest of the upgrade.

Track Days Expose a Long Rotation Fastest

On a trackday the final part of a throttle's travel is where small mistakes turn into wheelspin or an unsettled exit, and the Duke R's sharper chassis makes that consequence more immediate than on the standard bike. A shorter rotation gives less room for that kind of mistake to happen.

A Progressive Spring for a Precise Chassis

The return spring's resistance increases as the throttle opens further, giving a built-in cue before the most committed part of the rotation, which matters more on a bike whose suspension and geometry are already tuned to reward precise, deliberate inputs.

Preload to Match the Riding Mode

The three external preload stages let a rider firm the spring up for a trackday or ease it for a road ride home, matching throttle resistance to riding mode the same way the bike's own electronics adjust other settings. Few aftermarket throttles offer that level of control over feel.

Billet Ergal for a Bike Built to Be Pushed

Machined from solid Ergal 7075 rather than cast, this housing holds tight tolerances under the kind of repeated hard use an R-badged bike typically sees, more than a standard naked ridden mostly for commuting would. That level of finish is not something a cast part can match.

Back to Stock for Warranty or Resale

A dealer handling warranty work or a buyer inspecting the bike before purchase often wants to see the stock throttle body in place, and it refits cleanly with the usual ECU relearn of throttle position to finish the swap. Nothing about the original mounting points is altered in the process.
