DescriptionThe whole story▼

The JP ACCGP AP009 fits the 2025-2026 Aprilia Tuareg 660, trimming the standard ride-by-wire throttle down to a short sixty-degree sweep while adding a progressive return spring with three external preload stages, so full gas arrives sooner without losing the control a long day of trail riding demands.

Key Features

  • Aprilia Tuareg 660 (2025–2026)
  • GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
  • Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
  • Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
  • Standard throttle assembly refits at any time

Built for Days Away from Tarmac

The Tuareg 660 is bought for routes that run out of pavement, and its parallel-twin rewards a rider who can meter throttle precisely over rocks and ruts. A shorter throw means less wrist travel is needed to find that exact opening, which matters when the front wheel is already busy picking a line.

Machined, Not Moulded

Each housing starts as a solid billet of Ergal 7075 aluminium, cut on CNC machines rather than cast, so wall thickness and tolerances stay consistent from the first unit to the thousandth. The result is a throttle body that bolts up cleanly and holds its geometry under vibration and heat.

Tuning the Spring by Hand

Preload on the progressive spring is set externally in three stages, letting a rider firm up the return action before a technical descent or soften it for a long motorway transfer stage. No disassembly is required to move between settings, so the adjustment can happen at a fuel stop.

Grit, Water and Feel

Off-road throttle control is rarely about outright speed; it is about sensing how much grip is left under a rear tyre on loose gravel or wet clay. The reduced rotation sharpens that feedback loop, giving a clearer sense of where the edge of traction sits without demanding a heavier hand.

Plug and Play on the 660

The unit is built to the Tuareg 660's connector and mounting pattern, so no splicing or rewiring is involved. Installation follows the same steps as fitting any replacement throttle body, finishing with the usual electronic reset so the ECU relearns the new position range.

Keeping the Standard Part

Because the original throttle body is simply unbolted rather than modified, it can be kept in a garage shelf and refitted later if a rider's touring plans or terrain preferences change. Nothing about the swap is permanent, which keeps the decision low-risk for an adventure bike that sees varied use.
