DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Yamaha WR450F from the years 2003 to 2015 is a common find on the second-hand market: a 450cc four-stroke enduro bike, sturdy and well liked, often with several owners and a long history of trails behind it. Buying one usually starts a list of jobs, and the controls are near the top. Accossato's B8262 covers exactly these model years. The folding brake lever is machined in Italy from Ergal 7075, replaces the stock lever on the front brake master cylinder and has a joint that lets its blade tip forward in a fall instead of breaking.
Key Features

- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
- Blade in black, blue, gold or green on a dark base
- No German ABE documented; for off-road use
Construction and Material Quality
The B8262 is milled from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy, on CNC machines that cut the lever to shape from a single block. Accossato uses this high-strength aluminium alloy because the lever should be strong and reliable without adding weight. There are two parts: a dark base that mounts on the master cylinder pivot, and a blade in black, blue, gold or green that is carried on a folding joint. The brake blade is the shorter design, sized for three fingers. Crisp new edges and a straight blade are the first things a new owner notices after years with a lever that has been bent back more than once.
A Used Bike, a New Lever
Used enduro bikes carry the marks of every fall in their controls. A WR450F that has been ridden hard for a decade or more may have a brake lever that has been bent and straightened more than once, with a tip ground down by rocks and a slight twist that makes it sit at an odd angle. Such a lever can still work, but aluminium that has been bent back tends to be weaker at the bend, and a lever that has lost its shape changes where the fingers meet it. When a new owner goes through the bike, the controls are a sensible place to start: check the master cylinder for leaks, look at the colour of the brake fluid, and replace any lever that looks tired.
Fitting the B8262 at that point does more than restore the controls. The joint between base and blade means that the next fall, and on an enduro bike there will be one, has a better chance of leaving the lever intact: the blade can swing forward on impact instead of absorbing the full blow at its tip. That is a possibility, not a promise, and a brutal crash can still break it. But on a bike that is going to be ridden rather than polished, it is the kind of upgrade that keeps a second-hand WR450F going for many more seasons of trails.
Fitment and Compatibility
The B8262 belongs to the first WR450F era: Accossato lists it for the Yamaha WR450F of 2003 to 2015, on the original front brake master cylinder. The newer WR450F from 2016 onwards takes a different Accossato brake lever, the B8265, listed for 2016 to 2022. For the clutch side there is the folding C7165, which covers every year from 2003 to 2022; it comes in black, blue or green, so gold is available only on this brake lever.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented. Many WR450Fs are registered for road use, but with the B8262 fitted the bike is not approved on public roads; the lever is for off-road riding and competition.
