DescriptionThe whole story▼

A first low-side on a track day usually ends the same way: the rider walks away, the bike slides to a stop in the gravel, and the damage report starts at the footrests. On an Aprilia RSV4 RR, the side that touched down often comes back with a ground-down peg, a bent lever or a cracked footrest bracket. Plenty of owners use that moment to rethink the whole setup. Accossato's FT002 is an adjustable racing street rearset for the RSV4 RR of 2015 to 2019, made of aluminium and placing the feet further back than the factory parts.

Key Features

  • Adjustable racing street rearsets for the Aprilia RSV4 RR, 2015–2019
  • Also listed for the RSV4 RR Race Pack
  • Made of aluminium; simple, functional design
  • Knurled footpegs and lever tips
  • Aluminium heel guard plates
  • Rearward riding position compared with the stock footrests
  • Standard shift pattern; all black or black with red details
  • No German ABE documented; track use

Construction and Material Quality

Nothing about the FT002 is ornamental. Accossato describes the design as simple and functional, and the kit follows that line: an aluminium rearset with aluminium plates to guard the heels, knurled footpegs, and knurled tips on the gear lever and brake pedal. The knurling is the practical detail. During a track day your soles collect rubber crumbs and grit from the pit lane and the run-off areas, and a textured peg gives them something to hold where a smooth one would let them slip. The colour choice is equally direct: black from end to end, or black with red accents.

Before the New Parts Go On

If the FT002 is replacing parts damaged in a fall, look beyond the footrests before the new kit is fitted. A slide across tarmac and gravel can bend the gear linkage, scuff or crack the mounting points on the frame and damage the fairing panels close by. Threads in the frame should be clean and intact, because a rearset can only be as secure as the points it is fixed to. Check the rear brake parts on the right-hand side as well, including the hose routing, since a pedal that took a hit may have pulled on them. Once the FT002 is on the RSV4 RR, have the workshop set a little free play in the brake pedal before the brake begins to act, confirm that the brake light responds, and adjust the gear lever so every shift engages cleanly. Accossato calls the kit adjustable without describing the adjustment, so allow time to find a position that suits your boots and your body.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the FT002 for the RSV4 RR from 2015 to 2019 and names the RR Race Pack of the same years as well. The kit replaces the original footrest assemblies and keeps the standard pattern, so upshifts and downshifts go the same way as before. Every fastener should go in at the torque Aprilia specifies for the RSV4 RR, with thread-locking compound wherever the factory manual calls for it. Sit on the bike in a paddock stand before the first session and check that you can reach both controls comfortably in your usual boots.

Road Approval

Our records hold neither an ABE nor a Teilegutachten for the FT002. It is sold for circuit riding; road use in Germany is not covered.
