DescriptionThe whole story▼
The NHK GP-R Tech Race in the Estrella Galicia Replica livery is one of the few full-face race helmets on the market to carry FIM homologation — a certification demanded by the highest tiers of motorsport and the clearest signal that this lid meets the most demanding safety standards available. Built for riders who refuse to compromise between podium-level protection and real-world wearability, it combines aerodynamic engineering proven in MotoGP wind tunnels with the everyday refinement that makes long sessions genuinely comfortable.
Key Features
- FIM homologated — meeting the safety requirements of professional circuit racing and the most rigorous independent testing regimes
- AFRC (Advanced Fiberglass Reinforced Composite) shell in five shell sizes and nine inner shell sizes across twelve helmet sizes, ensuring an accurate, pressure-free fit for every head shape
- 4D-Air ventilation system engineered for sustained airflow at speed, reducing heat build-up during track sessions
- Flat visor with Wide Angle View geometry, Pinlock-ready and tear-off-ready for unobstructed vision in all conditions
- 100% fully mechanical visor change system — no tools, no fuss, swappable in seconds at the side of the track
- Emergency cheek-pad removal system and double-D-ring retention strap for rapid, safe extraction by medical personnel
- Camel-Bag hydration port preparation and glasses-compatible interior for versatile, comfort-focused use
AFRC Shell Construction
The outer shell is manufactured from AFRC — a composite that combines a polymer matrix (typically epoxy resin) with fiberglass reinforcement fibres. This construction delivers a refined balance of rigidity, impact absorption and weight, distributing crash energy across the shell rather than concentrating it at a single point. The five shell sizes mean the foam liner is never over-compressed or under-supported: your size M is not simply a padded-out XL, it is a helmet built to the correct geometry for that head circumference from the outset.
Aerodynamics and Ventilation
Every line of the GP-R Tech Race was shaped in the same wind tunnels used by MotoGP machinery. At racing speeds the silhouette generates minimal lift and buffeting, keeping rider fatigue in check on long stints. The 4D-Air system draws cool air through intake ports at the chin and crown, routing it across the liner and exhausting warm air through the rear — a meaningful difference when track temperatures climb and concentration must not.
Visor System
The flat-profile Wide Angle View visor expands the peripheral field of vision without optical distortion at the edges. The included Pinlock insert creates a sealed double-glazing effect that eliminates fogging in cold or humid conditions. Tear-off posts are integrated as standard, allowing riders to fit laminate tear-offs for endurance or wet-weather racing without any modification. The fully mechanical release mechanism means a fresh visor clips in smoothly even with gloved hands.
Interior Comfort and Practicality
The premium, removable and machine-washable liner keeps the interior fresh across a full race season. The cheeks are shaped to accommodate spectacle frames, making the GP-R Tech Race accessible to riders who wear glasses. A dedicated Camel-Bag port allows hydration tubing to be routed cleanly through the helmet — essential for endurance events where stopping to drink is not an option.

Fitment and Compatibility
The NHK GP-R Tech Race is a universal full-face race helmet with no vehicle-specific fitment requirement. It is suited to circuit racing, track days and high-performance road riding wherever FIM homologation or equivalent safety certification is required or preferred.

“Five shell sizes is more than Shoei or Arai offer here, and the FIM homologation is real. NHK is the unfamiliar name on this list, and the ventilation is the weakest part — everything else holds up against helmets costing more.”
