DescriptionThe whole story

Belic A2 puts the graphic on a white ground, and on a helmet built for city riding that is the version with a measurable advantage rather than an aesthetic one.

Four helmets in one shell

The point of a convertible is that one helmet covers a week that a single-purpose helmet would not: a wet commute, a warm evening, a slow ride through town where you want your face out of it.

🔵 Four configurations from one shell, with the chin guard and visor both detachable by hand. What each state gives you differs enormously — and so does what it protects.

The removable chin guard — what it is approved to do

🔵 What „removable chin guard" does and does not mean. It means wind off your face, spray off your chin and a helmet that looks and feels like a full-face on a cold morning. It does not, on the evidence MT publishes, mean certified impact protection for your jaw.

MT lists ECE 22.06 and DOT for this helmet but publishes no P/J marking. If chin protection is what you need, buy a full-face — MT's Thunder 4 SV is one, at less money than this.

About the Belic A2 graphic

City traffic is where a motorcyclist is least expected and most often looked through, and the head is the part of you a driver at a junction actually scans — it sits above the headlight, at windscreen height, moving against a static background. A pale helmet is resolved there measurably sooner than a dark one, in exactly the flat overcast light that Europe supplies for most of the year. On a helmet MT built for urban use, that is the version we would point a commuter at. A thermal argument runs alongside it: much of this helmet's life is spent at low speed where airflow does little, and a white shell reflects solar load that a black one converts into interior heat. 🔵 The cost is dirt, and a convertible collects it in more places than a plain helmet does — the chin guard join, the vent covers and the camera mount all trap road film a smooth shell would shed. White shows all of it. It washes off completely; it will not stay clean between washes.

HIRP and about 1.5 kilograms

🔵 Weight on a convertible is worth understanding: at about 1.5 kg you are carrying the chin guard, the visor, the sun shield and the mounting hardware for all of it, whether or not any of them are fitted at the time.

The shell underneath is HIRP, the same thermoplastic platform MT uses across almost its entire range.

Sun shield and outer visor

🔵 With the shield down and the outer visor closed you are looking through two surfaces, and any scratch on either becomes visible. Never wipe a dry visor: dust dragged across the surface leaves fine permanent scratches that flare against oncoming headlights.

Wet it first, every time. Tinted and mirrored outer visors are available separately.

Intakes, exhausts and the vent covers in the box

🔵 Airflow only happens if there is somewhere lower in pressure for the air to go, which is why the rear exhausts matter as much as the intakes at the front and crown.

No independent measurement of this helmet's airflow exists; this is MT's documented layout rather than a tested result. The supplied vent covers close it all down in winter.

The MT-MDTC closure

🔵 A micrometric ratchet is the right closure on a helmet you take apart and rebuild several times a week, because you are handling it constantly anyway.

Correct tension: one finger under the strap with the helmet on, and no more. Set the length bare-handed at home once, and the rest is a one-handed operation.

Interior, fit and washing

🔵 A new helmet should feel firm but never painful. The lining beds in over the first few hours and again across the first season, so a helmet that is perfect in the shop will usually be loose by the summer's end. Start tighter than comfortable.

Everything that touches your head comes out by hand for washing.

SportCam mount and intercom provision

🔵 A supplied camera mount is worth pointing out because a stick-on alternative on a shell with this much shaping and this many removable panels rarely sits where you want it.

Intercom compatibility is Bluetooth; no system is included, and speaker depth is worth checking before you buy one.

Where it sits in MT's range

🔵 The clearest comparison inside MT's own range: District SV S at 89 € is the open convertible — peak and visor, no chin guard at all. Streetfighter SV S at 115 € adds the removable chin guard and the streetfighter silhouette.

Both are HIRP shells with ECE 22.06 and DOT, both include the SportCam mount and vent covers, and neither has a certified chin bar.

When something wears out

🔵 On a convertible the parts most likely to be lost rather than broken are the vent covers and the chin guard — both come off without tools and both end up in a drawer. Keep them with the helmet.

Replacement cheek pads are the most useful spare part on any helmet and the least often bought; they correct a fit that has loosened with wear.
