DescriptionThe whole story▼
Riding through changing light conditions no longer means pulling over to swap visors. The AGV photochromic visor for the K6 S and K6 helmets adjusts its tint automatically and continuously — from fully clear to up to 80% tinted — so your eyes stay comfortable whether you are cruising into a tunnel, riding under open skies, or heading home at dusk. One visor does it all, every day.
Key Features
- Photochromic technology reacts to UV and ambient light intensity, transitioning smoothly from 0% to 80% tint without any manual intervention
- Optical Class 1 polycarbonate lens delivers a perfectly distortion-free view across the full 190° horizontal and 85° vertical field of vision
- Scratch-resistant coating and full UV protection keep the visor looking and performing like new across thousands of kilometres
- Pinlock ready — compatible with the Max Pinlock 120XLT insert (sold separately) for effective anti-fog performance in cold or humid conditions
- Transitions are gradual and eye-friendly, with no abrupt colour shift when entering shade, tunnels or low-light environments
- ECE 22.06 compliant for road use — approved for everyday riding and touring in all conditions
Everyday Usability
The practical case for a photochromic visor is straightforward: you carry one visor instead of two, and you never have to stop to swap. For commuters, touring riders, and anyone whose day starts before the sun is fully up, that convenience translates directly into a better ride. The AGV K6 photochromic visor handles the full range of a typical riding day — bright motorway stretches, tree-lined country lanes, urban tunnels, and overcast evenings — with a single, seamless piece of polycarbonate.
The smooth transition rate means there is no jarring shift in vision when light levels change rapidly. Your eyes adapt naturally alongside the visor, reducing fatigue on longer stints in the saddle. The material thickness of up to 4.3 mm also provides meaningful impact resistance without adding unnecessary bulk to the helmet's profile.
Fit, Installation and Care
The visor is designed exclusively for the AGV K6 S and AGV K6 helmets and fits via AGV's quick-release mechanism, allowing removal and refitting in seconds without tools. Cleaning should be carried out using a dedicated visor cleaner and a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid leaving the visor exposed to prolonged direct sunlight during storage, as this can affect the photochromic layer over time. The Pinlock insert is available separately and slots into the pre-installed pins with no modification required.
Track Use Note
This visor is approved and well-suited for all public road use. On track, it is permitted during daylight hours only — riders should plan accordingly if they are heading to a circuit for an evening session.
