DescriptionThe whole story▼
A home Grand Prix livery earns its place on a shell for one weekend a year, and this decor reproduces the one Johann Zarco carries for his own French round in 2026: a dark blue-grey base under a white front panel, chrome-effect chevron graphics that shift with the light, red and blue kept to accent stripes rather than a printed flag. The year comes straight from Shark's own designation for this decor -- "REPLICA ZARCO GP DE FRANCE 2026" -- not from anything guessed about a rider's calendar.
The certificate under the graphic: ECE 22.06
Whatever colour scheme a rider's home round comes with, the certification stays UNECE R 22-06, a road standard, not a competition rule. Since replacing 22.05, it strikes more points on the shell, each at multiple speeds, and adds a rotational-force score the older rule lacked. This helmet clears that bar the same way every decor in the range does.
Shell construction: fibreglass and carbon, not carbon alone
Shark categorises this shell as "Fibre" on its own site: a fiberglass-carbon weave, not a pure carbon-aramid lay-up, in two shell moulds rather than one stretched shape over an impact liner that steps in firmness by zone. That buys a lighter shell than the plain-fibreglass Spartan GT Pro below it, at a genuine but moderate premium, without claiming to match a dedicated track helmet's heavier-duty construction.
What 1,465 grams means across a race weekend
Shark's own figure sits at 1,465 g for the smaller shell; bigger heads get the second mould and a bit more weight with it. A number like that matters less sitting still than hour after hour: on a long ride to a circuit, the neck carries that mass continuously, and fatigue from a heavier lid builds before it becomes obvious.
Ventilation built to actually close
Three front intakes and two rear extractors run on Shark's double-Venturi system, engineered to keep air moving even before the bike reaches motorway speed. An independent Visordown test found the chin-bar vents and the rear exhaust ports genuinely close off, letting the same lid vent hard in summer and seal up in winter -- the same review rates the resulting airflow decent without calling it class-leading.
Visor: central lock, factory Pinlock, and which tints are road-legal
The visor fitted to this decor is the same VZ300 platform used on the Spartan RS and Spartan RS Carbon, not a version specific to cheaper models. Optical class 1 glazing runs 2.8 mm to 2.2 mm and closes through a central grip and central lock rather than a side catch, with a clear Pinlock 120 insert fitted from the factory. Iridium blue, pink and red suit daytime roads; smoke, silver and rainbow stay racing-only.
Sun visor, glasses, and intercom fit
An internal anti-fog sun visor, UV380-coated, drops with one external slider, operable gloved without lifting the main visor first. The mount comes apart tool-free for cleaning or a tint swap, the shell has a cut groove for glasses arms, and Shark lists compatibility with its Sharktooth intercom and SENA units alike.
Protection under the paddock graphic
A firmness-graded EPS liner absorbs impact energy beneath the shell, closed with a double-D ring immune to the kind of loosening a quick-release buckle can suffer under load. First responders free the cheek pads through Shark's own Emergency Release system without moving an injured rider's neck -- an EQRS by function, whatever Shark calls it. MIPS is absent from every piece of Shark documentation for this helmet, and none is claimed here.
Interior comfort for a full weekend in the helmet
ALVEOTECH antimicrobial fabric lines the inside, cut into 3D morphological cheek pads per Shark's own collection copy, shaped to the face rather than relying on flat foam to fill a gap. Independent testing confirms the whole interior -- pads, neck roll and skull cap -- comes out for a wash. Six sizes span XS to XXL across the two shell moulds, so a smaller head is not riding in a shell built for someone considerably bigger.
Johann Zarco and the French Grand Prix
Johann Zarco is a French MotoGP rider, born 16 July 1990, who won the Moto2 world championship in 2015 and became the first rider to successfully defend that title after the class was introduced in 2010. The French Grand Prix is his home round, and this decor is built specifically for it in 2026 -- the year comes directly from Shark's own designation for this decor, not from any assumption about his career or results.
The Spartan ladder, and the Replica tier's real price
Shark's own data draws four genuine steps here: Spartan RS Fibre opens the range, Spartan RS Carbon brings the lighter shell, the non-carbon Spartan GT Pro adds the Sport-GT layout and sun visor without carbon, and Spartan GT Pro Carbon sits on top. Inside that top step, plain Skin finishes are the entry point; this Replica graphic sits at the range's top price, the same tier as the Guintoli decor -- the premium buys the licensed graphic, not a different shell or certificate.

Wind noise: no invented number
No credible independent decibel figure exists for this helmet, so this listing states none. BikeSocial's road test of the 22-06 generation notes a tighter, elasticated neck roll engineered specifically against wind noise, at the cost of a slightly harder helmet to don. Visordown's separate review calls the wind noise in normal road use kept to a relative minimum. Both are genuine editorial impressions rather than lab data.
Spare visors for race day and every day after
Shark sells replacement screens for this exact model under a joint RS/GT Pro visor listing, and the Range Book confirms the same VZ300 part number sits across three Spartan variants. A scratched visor after a long day does not mean retiring a lid carrying a livery this specific.
What this helmet is not
Plainly stated: this is not an FIM-homologated racing helmet, whatever the graphic suggests -- ECE 22.06 is the only certificate it carries. No MIPS or equivalent liner is fitted. SHARP's 4-star result from August 2021 belongs to a separate, older helmet called "Spartan GT Carbon" without "Pro" in its name, and that score stays with the helmet it was actually measured on.
