DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Spidi DP-Progressive delivers everything a serious track and road rider needs in a single, no-compromise package: Class AAA certification, Italian-tanned premium leather, and a cut that works just as hard on a spirited Sunday run as it does on a dedicated trackday. For riders who want race-grade protection without sacrificing day-to-day wearability, this is the suit to reach for.
Key Features
- EN 17092 Class AAA certified — the highest protection rating for motorcycle clothing
- Cowhide leather at 1.2/1.3 mm thickness with perforated panels for active ventilation during sustained high-pace riding
- Flex Tenax Nylon 6.6 stretch inserts deliver outstanding abrasion resistance alongside genuine freedom of movement
- CE-approved armour at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees; ready-to-fit pockets for back and chest protectors
- Removable knee sliders and aerodynamic rear hump included as standard
- Removable inner lining makes post-session freshening up straightforward
- Neoprene panels add comfort and a watertight seal at key flex zones
Material Construction
Spidi sources cowhide at 1.2/1.3 mm — thick enough to provide serious abrasion protection across a slide, yet supple enough to move with the rider rather than against them. The perforated leather zones pull warm air away from the body during track use, keeping concentration sharp when lap times matter most. Flex Tenax Nylon 6.6 panels sit at the high-flex zones of the suit: an exceptionally abrasion-resistant material that stretches and recovers without degrading over time. Neoprene at the cuffs and connecting seams seals out wind and light moisture on the road, while the premium Italian tanning process ensures colour depth and leather longevity that cheaper alternatives simply cannot match.
Protection & Safety
CE Armour & Certification
The DP-Progressive meets EN 17092 Class AAA — the top tier of the European motorcycle protective clothing standard. CE-certified protectors are fitted at the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees from the outset. Internal pockets accept both a Level 1 and Level 2 back protector and a chest protector, giving riders the option to upgrade protection to suit track regulations or personal preference. Adjustable, replaceable knee sliders are included, and the integrated aerodynamic rear hump keeps the suit close to the body at speed, improving stability and reducing unwanted lift.
One-Piece Advantage
A one-piece suit eliminates the single greatest weak point of a two-piece combination: the waist connection. With the DP-Progressive there are no zips to pull apart under impact load, no gap to expose, and no misalignment between jacket and trouser armour. The result is consistent, predictable protection distributed evenly across the whole body. The ergonomic racing cut positions the suit correctly for an aggressive, forward-biased riding posture, while accordion stretch zones at the knees and elbows ensure the suit never fights the rider during corner entry or body positioning.
Everyday Usability
Track protection does not have to mean discomfort away from the circuit. The removable inner lining keeps the suit fresh across a full weekend of riding, and the perforated leather ensures the suit remains tolerable in warmer conditions rather than becoming an ordeal. Spidi's ergonomic pattern means the DP-Progressive is equally at home on a spirited back-road blast as it is between pit lane and apex — making it one of the most versatile investments a serious rider can make in their riding kit.
Fitment & Compatibility
This is a men's one-piece leather race suit available in sizes 46 through 58. It is suitable for track use, trackdays, and high-performance road riding. No vehicle-specific fitment applies — size selection should follow Spidi's published size chart for the best protective fit.
