No rating of its own — and what does transfer from the composite

🔵 Model names blur across shell materials, and this is the clearest example of it in LS2's catalogue. „Vector II" describes two helmets: a 1500 g fibreglass composite with four SHARP stars, and this 1400 g carbon with none.

Airflow that reaches your head

The ducting is moulded into the EPS itself rather than being gaps between comfort pads — the more effective arrangement, and the more expensive one to tool.

About the Savage white, blue and red graphic

The combination was arrived at by people who needed to tell one rider from another at speed and at distance: white carries the value, blue and red supply the contrast, and the banding gives an eye a hard edge to lock onto rather than a smooth surface to slide across. All three properties transfer directly to a driver resolving you at a junction, which is the situation that actually matters on a road. On a compact six-shell helmet the value argument counts double, since there is physically less helmet to see than on a bulkier rival. 🔵 Two practical points. The white base means this is one of the two or three most visible finishes here and also one that shows fly strike and motorway film clearly — expect to wash it more often than the carbon finishes. And red is the most UV-sensitive pigment on any helmet, so store it out of prolonged direct sun. Between the two white Savage finishes the practical difference is nil and the visual difference is considerable: this is the classic racing livery, the white, red and grey version is the contemporary one. Both are white-dominant, both need washing on a schedule, and both are meaningfully easier for a driver to resolve than any of the carbon-dominant finishes.

Holding on, and letting go

Two things worth checking before the first ride: that the strap length is right with the helmet on, and that the visor mechanism seats properly when closed.

The part you actually touch

The shell is prepared for LS2's Bluetooth unit. No system is supplied, and speaker depth rather than diameter is what decides whether a speaker presses over a long ride.

Carbon or composite — which Vector II to buy

🔵 What this helmet is not: a competition helmet. It holds ECE 22.06 for road use and no FIM homologation, so it is not eligible for FIM-sanctioned racing.

LS2's FIM helmet is the FF805 Thunder GP Pro FIM.

Care and replacement parts

🔵 Never repaint a helmet or apply solvent-based stickers to one. Paint solvents attack carbon lacquer and resin invisibly, and doing so voids the ECE approval.
