DescriptionThe whole story▼

This second Vibetrack colourway shares its base article number, HE8168, with the red-accented version above but carries a different colour code (DGU rather than DRU) and a cooler palette. Shark's price list names it Carbon Green Chrom, though the manufacturer photograph itself shows the bright accent stripes as a cyan-turquoise tone rather than a clearly green one — a naming discrepancy documented honestly below rather than silently resolved. Set beside its red-coded Vibetrack sibling, this colourway trades warm tones for cool ones, though — as the colour note below explains — not quite the tone its own name suggests.

The gloss finish

The same glossy clear coat as its red sibling sits over the dense striped graphic here, keeping the fine lines crisp rather than softened. The carbon weave shows through in the unpatterned sections of the shell, exactly as on the red-accented Vibetrack. As on its red sibling, very little bare carbon weave shows through the dense striped pattern here, unlike the plainer Carbon Skin decors where the weave itself is the whole point of the graphic.

About this Vibetrack colourway and its colour name

This is the second of two glossy Vibetrack colour codes in this line, sharing the base graphic layout with its red sibling (HE8168DRU) above but in a cooler tone. Direct pixel sampling of the manufacturer photograph shows the bright accent colour as an even cyan — equal green and blue values — rather than a hue that reads unambiguously as green, which is why this listing flags the supplier's 'Green Chrom' name rather than repeating it as simple fact. Like its red sibling, this decor is only offered glossy — Vibetrack does not follow the glossy/matte pairing pattern used elsewhere in this line for Carbon Skin and Shiever, instead offering two colour codes of one finish.

ECE 22.06 on this Vibetrack code

This green-named Vibetrack colourway carries the same ECE 22.06 approval as the rest of the range, mandatory across the EU for new homologations since January 2024. Eighteen impact points across several speeds have replaced the old standard's five points at one speed, an oblique test against a rough anvil now twists the shell rather than only compressing it, and a Brain Injury Criterion measures rotational force for the first time. No FIM code appears on the Norme field.

The shell beneath this colourway

This decor shares the same carbon shell as its red-coded Vibetrack sibling and every other decor in the range — 1455 g at Shark's stated first shell size. Certification, buckle type, EPS density and visor family stay identical against the fibre Spartan RS; only weight and finish shift with the move to carbon.

Neck load, in practical terms

1455 g is Shark's published figure at the smallest shell size; an independent carbon test unit for this range weighed 1485 g. Whichever is closer for a given helmet off the line, that mass rides on the neck the entire time it is worn, not just when the rider first puts it on.

Ventilation, unaffected by colour code

The shell's airflow was scored 3 out of 5 independently: effective at the chin vent when leaning into a corner, less so once temperatures climb, top vent judged adequate. This score belongs to the shell construction, identical whether the colour code is DRU or DGU. That result holds regardless of which Vibetrack colour code is chosen, since both share the identical shell and vent geometry.

The visor system here

A drop-down internal sun shade is fitted, sitting behind the standard VZ300 outer visor: optical class 1, thickness tapering from 2.8 mm to 2.2 mm, a four-point anchor system, central locking, anti-scratch coating, and a clear Pinlock 120 insert already in place.

What comes in the box

Independently reviewed decors from this carbon range confirm a helmet bag, reflective bands and the pre-fitted Pinlock 120 Max Vision insert as included, with a 5-year warranty behind them. The outer visor needs no tools to remove, and the chin flap unclips on request.

Mounting a comms unit

A cheek-pad recess built for Shark's Sharktooth intercom or a SENA For SHARK unit sits flush against the shell, the same as on every other decor and colour code in this carbon range.

Sizing across the run

XS through XXL spans two shell sizes here, matching the rest of the Spartan RS Carbon line. The brushed suede-effect Alveotech interior and a tight, wind-isolating neck roll are shared across the whole range, unaffected by which Vibetrack colour code is chosen.

Noise levels, honestly

Shark gives no decibel figure for this or any Spartan RS Carbon decor. An independent test of the shared shell scored noise 4 out of 5, citing light motorway buffeting and calm behaviour in town traffic — a tester's score, not a certified measurement.

Getting a replacement visor

This decor pulls from the same VZ300 spare-parts stock Shark keeps for the fibre Spartan RS and the Spartan GT Pro Carbon, spreading availability across three current ranges rather than one. The same pool also covers the red-coded Vibetrack sibling and both Raceblock colourways, so parts availability does not differ meaningfully between the decors in this carbon range.

Where this sits in Shark's own range

This decor is priced at 459.99 EUR before any storewide discount. Set against Shark's own current 2027 lineup rather than a competitor's:

Line UVP range Shell
Spartan RS Fibre 359.99 - 389.99 EUR Multiaxial composite fibre
OXO 349.99 - 459.99 EUR Thermoplastic modular
Spartan RS Carbon (this decor: 459.99 EUR) 429.99 - 529.99 EUR Carbon, VZ300 visor shared with Fibre
Spartan GT Pro 499.99 EUR Thermoplastic
Spartan GT Pro Carbon 549.99 - 629.99 EUR Carbon, also shares the VZ300 visor

Limitations, honestly

The colour name on this decor is the clearest limitation to flag: Shark's own price list calls it Carbon Green Chrom, but the manufacturer photograph shows an accent tone that reads as cyan-turquoise rather than unambiguously green — documented above rather than silently resolved either way. Beyond that, the shared carbon shell's 3.0-out-of-5 ventilation score and the reported early Pinlock-fitting issue apply here as elsewhere in this line. Priced the same as its red-coded sibling and both Raceblock colourways at 459.99 EUR, the choice between Vibetrack colour codes is purely a matter of which palette is preferred, not of cost.
