A four-star shell in six sizes

🔵 The practical consequence of six shells is felt on the first ride rather than read on a specification sheet: the helmet sits closer to your head, weighs less at the extremes of the size range, and looks proportioned rather than bulbous.

Certimoov's report singles it out with an exclamation mark.

Two independent results — including the criticisms

🟢 Most helmets on sale carry no independent rating at all — SHARP tests a limited number each year, so an absent rating usually means untested rather than poor. The Vector II carries two.

About the Alizer matt black and blue graphic

On the white version the graphic sits across a bright field and the eye takes in the whole shell at once. Here the black recedes and the blue becomes the only element with any weight, so the helmet reads as a dark shape with a highlight rather than as a decorated surface. It is the more restrained of the two by a wide margin. Blue is also the most practical saturated colour available on a helmet: the grey film a motorway day deposits reads as an obvious deposit against white and as a haze against black, and against a deep blue it largely disappears between washes. On a matt finish that compounds, because there is no clear coat for handling marks to catch in either. 🔵 The trade is conspicuity — a dark-based helmet is harder for a driver to resolve in poor light than a pale one, and that is precisely when it counts. Both versions cost 237 € and are otherwise identical. Among the three Alizer finishes this is the middle option: less visible than the matt white and silver, more visible than the black and red, and the easiest of the three to keep looking clean. All three cost 237 €, share the same HPFC shell and carry the same four SHARP stars.

Two visors in the box, a third inside the shell

The visor changes without tools, so swapping to the supplied tint is a roadside job of about a minute.

🔵 Hardcoating is what stops a visor scratching every time it is cleaned. It is not indestructible — wet it before any cloth touches it, every time.

Holding on, and letting go

🟢 The hardware specification here is complete for a helmet at this price: reinforced strap, metal micrometric buckle, emergency release, multi-density EPS.

🔵 None of the four is universal at 220 €.

The part you actually touch

🟢 Certimoov praised the equipment level of this helmet, and the interior is a large part of that: removable, washable, hypoallergenic, with intercom recesses moulded in.

🔵 Its reservations were the fit-on and the sun visor mechanism, not the lining.

Size guide

🔵 Glasses change the fit, and there are two things to check: that the arms slide in without catching, and that the drop-down sun visor clears your frames when lowered.
