DescriptionThe whole story▼
Not every decor in this range is built around one rider. This one carries Shark's own MotoGP paddock identity — a dark carbon shell cut through by a broad red diagonal panel and the MotoGP wordmark itself, rather than a specific rider's number or personal colours. It reads as motorsport without being a signature or a replica, and underneath the graphic sits the same shell, spoiler and dual homologation as every other Aeron GP FIM 2 decor.
ECE 22.06 — the road-legal layer underneath the branding
Whatever graphic sits on the shell, the helmet first has to clear ECE 22.06, mandatory across the EU for newly homologated helmets since January 2024 and a considerably harder test than the 22.05 standard it replaced. Eighteen points on the shell get struck rather than five, several speeds apiece instead of one, and a new angled impact against an abrasive anvil twists and grazes the shell rather than dropping it straight down.
FIM FRHPhe-02: what the racing certificate adds
Stacked on the road certification above sits FIM FRHPhe-02, the current-generation FIM Racing Homologation Programme standard — the reason Shark's price data carries the distinct code 2206-FIM2 for this entire line rather than the plain 2206 seen across most of the rest of the range.
The Adaptive Aero System behind the MotoGP branding
The wordmark on this shell references real engineering underneath it. At the tail sits Shark's patented Adaptive Aero System, a spoiler that moves rather than staying fixed, reacting automatically to the rider's own build, to the extra bulk a leather suit's hump adds behind the head, and to riding position at any given instant.
Shell: carbon-aramid, two sizes
The MotoGP graphic sits on the same COVA construction as the rest of the range — carbon fibre making up roughly 80 per cent of the composite, aramid the remainder — built across two separate shell sizes rather than one mould stretched over every head. A liner graded across four EPS density zones handles firmness inside the shell instead of a single uniform foam, and the chinstrap closes with a double-D ring, resistant to the loosening a quick-release buckle can suffer under load.
Weight as a neck-fatigue number, not a marketing figure
1,480 g is Shark's quoted weight, measured on the smaller of the two shell sizes here. That number is really a proxy for how much load the neck carries across an entire race or long trackday, not something to compare for five seconds in a shop — fatigue builds gradually rather than announcing itself. The larger shell, for the bigger sizes, will run a touch above this figure for an identical build.
Five intakes, seven extractors
A Double Venturi effect moves air through five intakes and seven extractors, the product of the same CFD pass that shaped the rear spoiler. Cooling and aerodynamic stability were treated as one problem on this shell rather than two separate add-ons, which is part of why the vents sit exactly where they do.
Visor specification
220 degrees of lateral vision and 57 vertically come courtesy of Optical class 1 glazing, held on a four-point anchor with side grip and locking pin. Tear-off ready from the factory, it suits a rider who'd rather strip a layer between sessions than stop to clean the visor. No Pinlock is fitted as standard; anti-fog and anti-scratch treatment cover that role here, and the racing tints available (dark smoke, chrome, gold, pink, silver) are explicitly racing-use-only, with clear and TE35 the tints actually road-approved.
What's fitted for safety, and what isn't
Rather than one uniform foam, the EPS liner grades across four separate densities, and Shark's Emergency Remove System — cheek pads a first responder can pull free without twisting the rider's neck — is standard on this model. No MIPS or similar rotational-impact liner is fitted; it doesn't appear in Shark's own spec material for this helmet, and this listing makes no such claim.
Shark's own MotoGP identity, not a rider replica
Unlike the Zarco and Fernandez decors in this line, this colourway is not built around one rider's personal livery. It carries Shark's own MotoGP-series branding — the wordmark, the red diagonal, the paddock-style graphic language — as its own design rather than a tribute to a specific competitor's season. That makes it the pick for a rider who wants the visual language of MotoGP racing on their helmet without wearing someone else's name or race number.
The ladder this decor sits on top of
Three real steps make up Shark's Aeron range. Non-FIM Aeron and Aeron GP models open it. Aeron GP FIM, certified to the earlier FRHPhe standard rather than FRHPhe-02, sits a tier up. This MotoGP decor, carrying the current FIM #2 standard, tops the ladder — the gap over its FIM 1 predecessor spent on the tighter racing certification, with the same shell and spoiler underneath both.

What we'll say about wind noise, and what we won't
No decibel figure gets quoted here, because no independently measured one comes from a source worth trusting. What's genuinely fitted is a seal around the visor opening and a chin curtain at the shell's base. Built for an active aero spoiler and cooling-tuned ventilation rather than silence, that priority is stated directly instead of dressed up with a number nobody actually measured.
Parts availability
Exactly four models share the title of Shark's spare-visor collection — Aeron, Aeron GP, Aeron GP FIM 1, Aeron GP FIM 2 — with this one named directly. Worth knowing on a racing-oriented helmet, where a visor is far likelier to need replacing than on a road-only lid.
What this decor doesn't come with
No MIPS or comparable rotational-impact system is fitted. No Pinlock insert comes as standard; anti-fog and anti-scratch treatment on the visor handles that instead. There's no internal sun visor. SHARP's 4-star score for a Shark model called "Aeron GP" applies to the separate non-FIM road helmet, not to this FIM2-certified racing model, and that score isn't carried over here. No independently measured wind-noise figure exists for this model.
