DescriptionThe whole story▼
This matte Dashed colourway is, like the glossy version, currently without manufacturer product photography, so this description is built from the supplier's own naming rather than an image. The price list records the colour as Black Silver Anthracite — a darker, more monochrome palette than the White Blue Red glossy version, consistent with how Shark tends to offer both a bright and a subdued colourway within one decor family. Where the glossy Dashed colourway leans toward a bright, high-contrast palette, this matte version's Black Silver Anthracite naming suggests a more restrained, monochrome execution of the same broken-line motif — again, unconfirmed without a photograph.
Finish
Shark's price list records this colourway as matte, distinguishing it from the glossy White Blue Red Dashed decor documented separately. As with that decor, no further detail on the graphic's exact layout is given here beyond the supplier's naming, because no product photograph exists yet to verify it against. As with the glossy sibling, the finish type itself — matte, per Shark's price list — is the one detail confirmed independently of the still-missing product photograph.
About this Dashed finish
This matte Dashed colourway is the second of two finishes Shark offers for the same graphic family in this line, alongside the glossy White Blue Red version documented separately — a pairing repeated across several other 2027 Spartan RS decors.
What the ECE 22.06 rating means for this Dashed Mat decor
This matte Dashed helmet meets ECE 22.06, the standard the EU made mandatory for newly homologated helmets from January 2024 onward. Compared with the outgoing 22.05 standard, the shell is now struck at eighteen points rather than five, at several speeds rather than one, and faces a new oblique-impact test against a rough anvil that twists it instead of only compressing it; a rotational Brain Injury Criterion is scored for the first time too. The certificate covers the complete helmet as sold.
What the shell material does and doesn't change, Dashed Mat
This matte Dashed helmet's shell is multiaxial composite fibre, cross-laid glass fibre rather than carbon, and structurally identical in every regulatory respect to the pricier carbon Spartan RS: same ECE 22.06 certificate, same Double-D closure, same multi-density EPS, same VZ300 visor family. What carbon adds is a lighter first-shell-size weight and a different finish under the clear coat — a real but modest difference, not a second safety tier.
Weight on the neck, Dashed Mat
Shark's figure for this matte Dashed decor is 1500 g at the first shell size, roughly in line with the 1530 g an independent test unit recorded for the range. What that number represents in practice is continuous neck load — carried dynamically through every brake, corner and head-check across a ride rather than sitting there statically — which matters more over distance than the exact gram count printed on a spec sheet.
Ventilation, Dashed Mat
A chin-bar intake aimed at the visor and a forehead intake supply air, with a permanently open exhaust in the rear spoiler letting it out continuously. Reviewers appreciate that the sliders work with gloves on, while noting they lack detent clicks for precise intermediate settings. In practice this keeps the visor clear under normal conditions without standing out as best-in-class.
Sun visor and outer visor, Dashed Mat
The internal drop-down sun visor offers near-total face coverage with its own detente stops, rated well in independent reviews. Outside it, the VZ300 outer visor is optical class 1, 2.8 mm to 2.2 mm thick, anchored at four points, centrally locked, anti-scratch coated, with a clear Pinlock 120 insert pre-fitted rather than an optional extra.
Visor handling, Dashed Mat
Like the rest of the range, this matte Dashed decor's visor detaches without tools via the four-point lock, so a spare or tinted swap is a quick job rather than a workshop task. Anti-scratch coating is standard across every decor.
Comms compatibility, Dashed Mat
Like the rest of the range, this shell has a cheek-pad recess built for Shark's own Sharktooth intercom or a SENA For SHARK unit, fitting flush against the shell. The comms hardware itself is not included and is bought separately.
Fit, Dashed Mat
The size run covers XS to XXL on two shell sizes, which independent reviewers treat as a shortfall against the three-shell benchmark of a top-tier helmet. The trade is a noticeably round internal fit, praised as a good option for heads that find Shoei or Arai too oval, plus cheek pads that swap independently for fit adjustment.
Wind noise, Dashed Mat
There is no published dB rating for this decor. Independent accounts differ: one calls the noise appropriate and unremarkable at legal speeds, the other flags, without a number, that the missing neck roll compared to the predecessor Spartan GT might raise motorway wind noise. Neither claim is resolved into a single figure here.
Spare parts, Dashed Mat
A worn visor on this matte Dashed decor is a replacement part through Shark's dedicated Spartan RS spare-visor listing, not a reason to retire the helmet. Because the VZ300 visor is shared with the Spartan RS Carbon and the Spartan GT Pro Carbon, the pool of available stock and tints is wider than for a helmet with its own unique visor.
Where this sits in Shark's own range
This matte Dashed colourway also sits at 389.99 EUR. Within Shark's own current price list:
| Line | UVP range | Shell |
|---|---|---|
| Skwal i3 | 319.99 - 399.99 EUR | Thermoplastic, LED brake light |
| OXO | 349.99 - 459.99 EUR | Thermoplastic modular |
| Spartan RS (this decor: 389.99 EUR) | 359.99 - 389.99 EUR | Multiaxial composite fibre |
| Spartan RS Carbon | 429.99 - 529.99 EUR | Carbon, same VZ300 visor family |
| Spartan GT Pro Carbon | 549.99 - 629.99 EUR | Carbon, also shares the VZ300 visor |
Limitations, honestly
As with its glossy sibling above, this matte Dashed colourway has no manufacturer photograph to check the Black Silver Anthracite name against, so treat that description as the supplier's word rather than a confirmed fact until Shark publishes an image. Everything else about this helmet — the two-shell sizing, the unmeasured wind noise — is documented and applies here exactly as it does across the rest of the range. The same caution applies here as to its glossy sibling: ordering this colour code before Shark publishes photography means trusting the Black Silver Anthracite name on its own, without the visual confirmation available on six other decors in this line.
