Blue is the specialist of the iridium range: the finish to reach for when the sun is low and directly in front of you, or when it is coming back up off standing water.
Cutting the wavelengths that actually hurt
A blue mirror rejects most aggressively at the yellow-orange end of the spectrum — which is where low sun lives, and where the glare reflected off a wet track surface concentrates. That makes it the most effective of the four monolayer finishes in strong, direct light and the one that most obviously calms an evening session. Under grey cloud the same bias reads cool and slightly flat, so this is a conditions-specific visor rather than an everyday one.
Coating and colour on carbon
Against an exposed carbon shell the blue reads close to black at a shallow angle and lifts to a clear blue when someone looks straight at you. On the Herbertson replica, with its aquamarine graphic, it is the closest match in the range.
One layer
This is a coloured monolayer, not the stacked multi-film construction Nolan uses for the Cosmic visors. Fewer layers means less angle-dependent colour shift and a lower price.
Circuit use only
No European road homologation. Nolan sells this visor for race tracks and private circuits, and it should never be used at night or in poor visibility.
Underneath
Italian-made Lexan polycarbonate, flat Ultrawide cut, scratch-treated both sides, Pinlock posts fitted, tool-free change, common to all four X-804 shell sizes. Wash wet, never dry.

Take out the washable lining and hand-wash it in lukewarm water. Clean the shell and visor with a soft cloth and water only — never solvents.
