How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

Subic trades the hard blocks of the Trax for something finer: thin circuit-like lines that trace the shell in red, as though the aerodynamics had been drawn on. On the matt carbon base the effect is technical rather than loud — a graphic you notice on the second look, not the first.
The LS2 FF807 Dragon is a full-face sport-touring helmet built entirely from 6K carbon fibre, weighing roughly 1,450 g (±50 g) and carrying a drop-down internal sun visor — a combination that is rare at this weight. It is homologated to ECE 22.06 and rated 4 stars by SHARP, the UK government's independent helmet-testing programme.
Key Features
- Full 6K carbon shell — approx. 1,450 g (±50 g), in three shell sizes across 2XS–3XL
- ECE 22.06 homologation · 4-star SHARP safety rating
- Twin Visor System — integrated drop-down sun visor plus the main visor
- Pinlock® 120 MaxVision™ insert included, plus a second tinted visor in the box
- Tool-free quick-release visor change with a visor button lock
- Double D-ring on a reinforced strap · Emergency Release System · multi-density EPS
- Carbon chin, top and exhaust vents feeding channelled EPS, plus a breath deflector
- X-Static® silver antibacterial liner — removable, washable, laser-cut
- Prepared for the new LS2 Bluetooth intercom · reflective safety patch
Shell and Safety
A 6K carbon monocoque forms the whole of the Dragon's outer shell. That matters twice over: carbon's stiffness-to-weight ratio brings the helmet to about 1,450 g (±50 g) even with an internal sun visor fitted, and it spreads impact energy across a wider area before the liner takes over. The liner itself is multi-density EPS, tuned zone by zone. Because LS2 tools three shell sizes for the 2XS–3XL range, the helmet does not grow visually out of proportion at the top or bottom of the range. It is homologated to ECE 22.06 and rated 4 stars by SHARP.
Twin Visor System and Optics
The Twin Visor System is the feature that turns the Dragon from a sports helmet into an everyday one. Alongside the main visor there is a built-in sun visor that drops on a slider and stows away completely — the difference between squinting into a low winter sun and simply carrying on. The outer visor is scratch- and UV-resistant with a locking button to stop it lifting at speed, and it changes over via a quick-release mechanism in seconds. Included as standard: the Pinlock® 120 MaxVision™ anti-fog lens and a spare tinted visor.
Ventilation
Air enters through carbon chin and top vents and leaves through a carbon exhaust port at the rear, drawn along channels moulded into the EPS so it actually travels over the head rather than stopping at the liner. A breath deflector sits behind the chin bar to steer exhaled air away from the visor, which matters as much for fog as the Pinlock does. The vent caps are carbon too — a detail, but one that keeps the weight down at the very top of the shell.
An Honest Word Before You Buy
Where the Dragon draws its line: it is homologated to ECE 22.06 for road use and nothing more. There is no FIM homologation, which means it is not eligible for competition run under FIM rules — that is what the FF805 Thunder GP Pro FIM in our range is for. And while the tinted second visor included in the box is a genuinely useful extra, tinted visors are daylight-only under most European road rules; fit the clear one before you ride home in the dark. Saying so here saves a disappointment later.
Fit, Interior and Comfort
LS2 lists the Dragon as an intermediate oval fit. The comfort liner uses X-Static® silver fibre and is both hypoallergenic and antibacterial — relevant on a helmet you put on every morning. Everything comes out for washing, the fabric breathes, and the padding is laser-cut rather than stamped, which keeps the surface even against the head. Reviewers note a notably close neck roll and cheek pads that reach higher than usual, giving a secure, wrapped feel that eases as the foam compresses over the first few hundred miles.
Retention and Emergency Access
The strap is reinforced and closes with a double D-ring — no ratchet, no adjustment drift. In an incident, the Emergency Release System gives first responders a way to extract the cheek pads and remove the helmet with far less movement of the rider's neck than pulling it off intact would require. A reflective safety patch on the shell is a small addition that earns its place every time you ride home in the dark.
Intercom Ready
The Dragon is prepared for the new LS2 Bluetooth intercom, with recesses already moulded into the liner for the speakers and routing for the cables — so a comms unit sits flush against your ears rather than pressing into them, and the outside of the helmet stays clean.
The Subic Matt Red finish
Fine red lines run the length of the shell over a matt carbon base, following the contours rather than cutting across them, with the LS2 wordmark picked out in the same red. Because the base stays matt, the red reads as a highlight instead of a paint job — this is the most restrained of the coloured Dragons and the one that works best if you like graphics but not attention.
Finding Your Size
The Dragon runs from 2XS to 3XL across three shell sizes (2XS–S / M–L / XL–3XL). Measure your head circumference with a soft tape roughly 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, around the widest part of the skull, and compare it against the size chart linked on this page. Between two sizes, take the larger one — the Dragon fits close from new and the padding beds down with use.
Approved Use
The LS2 FF807 Dragon is a unisex full-face helmet homologated to ECE 22.06 and road-legal throughout ECE markets. It is intended for sport, sport-touring and everyday road riding. The clear main visor is the road-legal screen; the supplied tinted visor is for daylight use.
