DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Alpinestars Supertech R10 Solid in Carbon Gloss holds triple homologation — ECE 22.06, DOT and FIM — placing it among the most rigorously certified road and racing helmets available. Developed over more than a decade alongside MotoGP riders including Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Martin and Jack Miller, this helmet exists to meet the demands of those for whom safety standards are a baseline, not a ceiling.
Key Features
- Triple-certified to ECE 22.06, DOT and FIM — approved for both public roads and FIM-sanctioned competition
- Carbon-Multi-Composite shell combining 3K carbon, UD carbon, aramid and fibreglass for exceptional impact resistance at just approximately 1,540 g (size M)
- Multi-density EPS liner with six specific densities absorbs both linear and rotational impact energy, exceeding standard thresholds by 37% (linear) and 65% (rotational)
- Elevated chin bar structure with EPP padding designed to reduce the risk of clavicle injury in a crash
- Emergency cheek pad removal system allows first responders rapid access without disturbing the rider's head position
- 11-port ventilation system — 7 intakes (3 chin, 4 crown) and 4 exhausts — keeps airflow moving even during sustained high-speed track sessions
Shell and Safety Architecture
The gloss carbon finish is more than an aesthetic choice — it signals the shell construction beneath. The Carbon-Multi-Composite layup draws on 3K high-density carbon, UD carbon, aramid fibre and fibreglass in a configuration tuned for both rigidity and controlled energy dispersion. At approximately 1,540 g in size M, the Supertech R10 delivers a strength-to-weight ratio that measurably reduces neck fatigue over long stints.
Inside, an eight-piece multi-density EPS system surrounds the head with six differentiated foam densities, each calibrated to handle specific impact scenarios. Rotational energy management is built into the structure rather than bolted on as an afterthought, with documented performance margins well above ECE 22.06 requirements. The emergency cheek pad extraction system is a detail that matters most when you hope never to need it — but it is there, engineered to work under pressure.
Aerodynamics and Ventilation
Alpinestars developed the Supertech R10 using CFD simulation and wind tunnel validation. Two interchangeable spoilers — one optimised for track use, one for road — are included so riders can configure the helmet to their primary environment. Side turbulators and aero winglets work in concert to stabilise the helmet at speed and reduce wind noise transmitted through the chin bar area. The eleven ventilation apertures are positioned to create a through-flow effect: cooler air enters at the chin and crown, warm air exits via rear exhausts, and integrated anti-fog channelling keeps the visor environment clear regardless of pace or ambient temperature.
Visor System
The 3 mm visor meets optical Class 1 standards and offers a 220-degree lateral field of vision combined with 57 degrees of vertical coverage — a meaningful advantage when scanning for apexes or changing road hazards. Anti-scratch coating is applied as standard, and the lens is compatible with the Pinlock 120XLT insert (included). A metal locking mechanism secures the visor under vibration and high-speed buffeting, while the quick-release system allows a swap in seconds. Both a clear and a tinted visor are supplied in the box.
Interior Comfort
The moisture-wicking, antibacterial and machine-washable liner keeps the interior fresh across long touring days and back-to-back track sessions alike. Cheek pads are available in multiple thicknesses to dial in the precise race fit. The helmet is hydration-system ready, with internal routing that accommodates a drinking tube without disturbing the liner — a thoughtful touch for endurance applications. Note that the close race fit means the Supertech R10 is only conditionally suitable for spectacle wearers; Bluetooth and intercom systems may be compatible depending on unit profile, though there is no officially designated integration slot.

“Technically the most complete helmet on this page: six shell sizes, ECE plus DOT plus FIM, and a shell Alpinestars says exceeds the standard by 37 per cent. It sits mid-table only because it is the most expensive here and 1,540 g is no featherweight.”
— the Inter-Pace crewECE 22.06, DOT and FIM together — three standards.
Six shell sizes, EQRS and a shell that beats ECE by 37 %.
Eleven ports; the crown vent works with gloves on.
A decade of MotoGP development behind the shape.
1,540 g — heavy for a carbon race helmet.
Average; this is a track helmet, not a tourer.
Firm rather than plush — built to stay put, not to cosset.
Six shell sizes: nobody in this field fits better.
Unmistakably a racing helmet, top to bottom.
