There is no filter oil to pack for a trip with this element, because none is used on it. But there is something else that cannot be packed, and that is drying time. An air line brings a dry element back in minutes and it goes straight into the box. Water does not work that way: a washed element is out of service until it is dry right through in moving air, and nothing may be done to hurry that along. On a long route, that single fact decides how many elements belong in the luggage.

Two elements instead of a cleaning kit

The practical answer for a long stage is a second panel rather than a bottle of anything. It is flat, it weighs almost nothing, and it means the machine is never waiting on something to dry. Swap at the end of a dusty day, put the loaded one in a bag and deal with it when there is time and running water. That also removes the temptation which ends most reusable filters — hurrying the drying with warm air. Heat destroys this material far more reliably than dust ever will.

The calendar the environment writes

7 microns catch more than 80 do, so in the same air this element loads sooner than the standard one. That is the retention working rather than a defect, and it means the interval belongs to the conditions instead of the diary: checked after a dusty stage, checked after a wet one, left alone for a long time on ordinary roads. Nothing here is a power claim. A panel in an unmodified airbox does not make a standard motorcycle noticeably stronger; it hands back the restriction it caused, and holds back material a coarser mesh would pass.

Care and cleaning

Blow the PM153T12 through from the clean side and work slowly, since a fine mat releases its load less readily than a weave. Where a wash is needed, lukewarm water with a mild washing-up detergent, rinsed until the water runs clear, then a full dry in open moving air — never a heater, a hot-air gun or a flame.
