There is a question that comes before which material: whether anything needs to come out of this airbox yet. The 368M has been on sale since 2025. On most of these machines the panel Zontes fitted has done a small fraction of the work it was made for, and replacing it now with a racing weave retires a serviceable part in order to install capacity the engine has no way of using on the way to work. The first service is a better moment to decide, because by then there is something to look at rather than something to assume.

What waiting is worth

By the first service the machine has written its own evidence into the original panel: how much it gathers, what sort of load it is, how fast it arrives on the roads this particular bike gets ridden on. That evidence answers the medium question far better than any data sheet, because the sheet describes fabric while the panel describes a route. Nothing is lost by waiting, either. This element is designed to outlast the motorcycle and will be exactly as available then as it is today.

If the answer is still yes

Then it is worth being clear about what is being bought. Something over two and a third times the outlay of the standard weave for this same housing gets a mesh opened from 80 µm to 85 and a flow rating lifted from 5,050 to 15,000 l/m²/sec. The second figure only becomes visible at sustained full throttle; the first is a small step away from protection, accepted in exchange. No element makes a standard 368M stronger, since the airbox, the throttle bodies and the map are untouched by the swap. What it does deliver is an intake part that is cleaned instead of replaced, and a restriction that can be returned to where it began.

Care and cleaning

Start with compressed air from the clean face, pushing the load back out through the dirty side so that it never has to pass deeper into the weave. Where the deposit has turned greasy, lukewarm water and a mild detergent lift it; rinse until the run-off is colourless. Then dry the element in room-temperature air alone, since a heat gun, a radiator or a flame will destroy polyester well before anything looks amiss, and refit the SM295S F1-85 bone dry and untreated.
