One detail of the price list explains this element better than any description of the cloth. Sprint Filter asks essentially the same for the F1-85 right across its motorcycle range, while the standard element is quoted application by application. Set against the SM257S that covers this Trofeo 300AC, the racing version works out at close to three times as much. That ratio is a statement about a medium, not about a motorcycle, and reading it the other way round is the common mistake.
Key Features
- P08 family racing weave: dry polyester, a single layer, never treated with oil
- 85 µm aperture at a rated 15,000 l/m²/sec, the fastest-flowing cloth Sprint Filter makes
- Retention put at 95.22 per cent in the maker's own measurement on 100-micron particles
- Roughly twice the filtering surface of other performance elements, on the standard frame
- Sits in the series airbox in the paper panel's place, with no cutting and no remap
- Regenerated with an air line rather than replaced; two years of warranty from purchase
A price that belongs to the cloth
A standard element is quoted per housing, so what it costs follows how much material a given airbox needs and how awkward the shape is. The racing element is quoted almost flat across the catalogue, which is what a low-volume specialist material behaves like: the expense sits in the weave, not in the panel. The consequence for a buyer is worth spelling out. The multiple you see here is not a measure of how much more the part does on this machine. Beside a large machine with a costly standard element the same cloth would look almost modest; beside a 300 it looks steep. It is the same cloth.
What the cloth does
85 µm between the threads at a rated 15,000 l/m²/sec, against 80 µm and 5,050 for the road panel in the same box. Dry polyester, one layer, never oiled, and around double the surface other performance elements carry. The trade runs one way — coarser passes more and retains less — and it is a choice rather than a ranking, with each medium built for different air. The ceiling is the same as for every element on this page: SM257S F1-85 will not make a standard Trofeo 300AC noticeably quicker. It offers a low intake restriction that is restored at each cleaning instead of replaced.
Care and cleaning
This panel is maintained, not consumed. Most of the time an air line is enough: hold it to the clean side and blow outward, so the dirt exits by the way it came. For a load that has set hard, lukewarm water and a mild detergent will shift it, and the panel is rinsed until the run-off is clean. It then dries in circulating air at room temperature — never over a heater, never with a hot air gun, never near a flame — and it is refitted dry, with no treatment of any kind. The maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the airbox of the Voge Trofeo 300AC of 2020 and 2021, in place of the standard paper panel. Three Voge machines are listed under this racing element, one of them still catalogued for 2026. Dates for each are in the Fitment tab.
