DescriptionThe whole story▼
The OZ Piega rear wheel transforms the Yamaha YZF-R6 RJ27 into a sharper, more responsive machine. Forged from premium aluminium by OZ's Superbike racing division, its five-spoke Piega design slashes rotating mass to deliver noticeably quicker steering responses and improved agility whether you are threading through traffic or chasing lap times.
Key Features
- Five-spoke Piega design developed directly by OZ's SBK racing department for proven performance credentials.
- Premium forged aluminium construction delivers an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio, reducing rotating mass for sharper handling.
- Available in three anodised finishes — gloss black, techno black and techno gold — each complementing the aggressive lines of the YZF-R6 RJ27.
- Optimised for both road and track use, striking the ideal balance between lightweight construction and structural rigidity.
- Made in Italy to OZ's exacting manufacturing standards, ensuring long-term reliability under sustained high-performance use.
- Supplied complete with quality bearings, aluminium angle valves, spacers (fitted where required) and a sprocket carrier — note that the original rear sprocket is not compatible.
Built to Race, Engineered to Last
OZ has been supplying wheels to factory race teams for decades, and the Piega range distils that motorsport knowledge into a road-legal product. The forging process aligns the grain structure of the aluminium, producing a wheel that is measurably stiffer and more fatigue-resistant than a cast equivalent of the same weight. On the road this translates into a front end that feels more connected to the surface, and on track it means consistent feedback lap after lap as tyre temperatures build.
Finish and Aesthetics
All three colour options are anodised rather than painted, meaning the finish is integral to the metal surface itself. Anodising resists chipping and corrosion, making the wheel easier to clean and keeping it looking sharp through seasons of hard use. Gloss black offers a classic, understated contrast; techno black has a darker, more industrial character; techno gold adds a race-inspired accent that pairs naturally with Yamaha's iconic livery heritage.
Fitment and Compatibility
This wheel is engineered specifically for the Yamaha YZF-R6 RJ27 (model years 2017 to 2026). It is a direct-fitment rear wheel for both road and track configurations. The kit includes a sprocket carrier, but the original OEM rear sprocket cannot be reused — a compatible aftermarket or OZ sprocket must be fitted separately. Spacers are included and fitted only where the installation requires them.
