DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 007 removes the Bonneville T120's air injection solenoid out of the loop and leaves the panel clean.

Twelve Hundred Cubic Centimetres
Eighty horsepower and a great deal of torque from very low down. The T120 is the Bonneville for riders who want the shape and the performance.
Heated Grips as Standard
On the higher specification, which tells you that Triumph knows these motorcycles are ridden through winters rather than kept for summer Sundays.
A Solenoid Under the Tank
It opens the path and closes it again on command, and it is the only electrically active part of the whole arrangement. Everything else is hose and reed.
On the Overrun Only
The valve is shut at any meaningful throttle opening. It works entirely on a closed throttle, which is precisely when nobody is asking anything of the engine.
Heat Cycles, Not Mileage
The reeds sit at cylinder head temperature and flex on every closed throttle. They fail with age rather than with distance covered, which surprises owners of low-mileage bikes.
Why Every Modern Triple Has One
Emissions cycles measure what leaves the pipe rather than what happens inside the cylinder, so burning the residue after the fact is a legitimate way to pass. It costs the manufacturer almost nothing and it costs the rider nothing except a noise nobody wants.
The Warning Comes Back
Clearing the code with a reader works until the next ignition cycle, when the self-test runs again and finds the same open circuit. There is no way to make it stay cleared except by answering it.
The First Question a Buyer Asks
Whether the crackle is normal. It is, on any modern Triumph with a freer exhaust, and explaining why usually takes longer than fitting the part that stops it. Dealers hear the question constantly and rarely have a satisfying answer to give.
A Part With One Job
It presents a resistance. There is no software, no calibration and nothing that can drift out of specification over time.
