DescriptionThe whole story

The JP ES 007 is the electrical half of Ducati's secondary air deletion, and on the Panigale 1199 it takes the place of the solenoid the engine controller spends its life watching.

Key Features

  • Ducati Panigale 1199 (2012–2015)
  • Takes the secondary air solenoid out of the circuit
  • No warning on the instrument panel
  • Plugs into Ducati's own connector
  • Nothing cut, nothing spliced
  • Standard valve refits at any time

The Engine as the Frame

Ducati abandoned the trellis entirely, bolting the steering head and the subframe to the engine. It was the most radical superbike chassis anybody had built.

The Secondary Air Valve

An electrically opened solenoid feeds filtered air into the exhaust ports on a shut throttle, so mixture that escaped the cylinder finishes burning in the header rather than leaving the pipe.

Only the Electrical Half

The reed assembly stays on the cylinder head until a cover replaces it. Ducati splits the system in two and the aftermarket follows.

Test It Cold

The system is most active during warm-up, so a cold start and a short ride is the honest check that the change has done what it should.

What Actually Improves

A quieter overrun, no stored fault and one fewer perishable component on a hot cylinder head. That is the complete and honest list.

What Owners Notice

A quieter overrun and a panel that stays clean. Nothing about the power delivery changes and nothing about consumption changes, whatever a forum thread claims.

The Second Owner's Problem

A stored code found at a pre-purchase inspection costs more in negotiation than the part costs new. Answering the circuit is simply cheaper.

Reading the Fault Before Ordering

The stored code says which circuit the controller lost, not why. A solenoid that has failed electrically and a reed that has cracked mechanically produce different symptoms, and the second one shows itself in the airbox rather than on the panel. Anybody buying the electrical half alone should look inside the airbox first, because a sooted element means the housing needs attention too and the evening is better spent doing both.

Clearing the Memory Afterwards

Fitting the eliminator stops new faults being stored, but it does not erase the ones already there. A diagnostic tool clears the history in seconds and it is worth doing at the same time, because a warning that was already logged will otherwise sit in the record and confuse the next person who reads it, whether that is a dealer, a buyer or you in three years.
