DescriptionThe whole story▼

By the time an M1000RR leaves the factory it already carries carbon wheels and winglets. What it does not carry is a brake lever you can set to your own hand, which makes the lever one of the few places left where the bike can still be improved.

Key Features

  • Folding blade that swings clear instead of snapping off
  • Engineered break point inside the two-finger zone
  • Phosphated pivot seat, free of play from new
  • CNC-machined from solid aluminium, black anodised
  • Milled Gilles face for a secure gloved grip
  • Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91203

Material and Bearing

Solid aluminium, machined and hard anodised, with the pivot bore phosphated as its own operation. The point is not weight — a lever saves grams, not kilos — but consistency: a treated bearing surface keeps the same feel through a season instead of developing the slack that makes a lever feel vague exactly when you need it precise.

Two-Finger Braking from a Tuck

Tucked in behind the screen on an M1000RR the wrist rolls forward and the effective reach changes. A lever set up for sitting upright is suddenly too far away, and the fingers end up chasing it at the one moment they should be doing nothing but modulating. The central wheel covers that range in 35 steps, adjusted by hand, and holds its position without a lock nut.

The Case for a Folding Blade

On a homologation special, the arithmetic of a low-side is unforgiving. A folding blade swings clear of the impact rather than levering against the master cylinder, which turns an expensive morning into a cheap one. The engineered break point stays in the two-finger zone, where it belongs.

Road Approval

Carries ABE No. KBA 91203 for German road use. The certificate is downloadable here and should be printed and kept with the papers; no entry and no testing-organisation inspection are needed. Do not shorten or drill the blade, as the break point forms part of the approval.

Scope of Delivery

One black brake lever for the M1000RR, delivered on its own. It bolts to the original master cylinder, so the swap is fully reversible and nothing on the bike is modified.
