DescriptionThe whole story▼
Akrapovic publishes the same measured figures for this silencer and for its carbon sibling: identical weight, identical power, identical torque. The two versions differ in exactly one thing — what the outer sleeve is made of — and that single choice is what this page is about.
Key Features
- 2.52 kg against the standard 5.22 kg: 2.7 kg and 51.7 per cent less
- Titanium muffler outer sleeve with a carbon fibre end cap
- Same published performance as the carbon version — the material is the difference
- Thirty minutes to fit, removable noise insert supplied
- Covers the Ninja 1000SX and the 1100SX that replaced it
- EC and ECE type approved
Why Titanium on This Particular Motorcycle
A Ninja 1000SX is a sport-tourer. It gets ridden through winters, loaded with panniers that rub against the silencer, parked outside at hotels, and washed more often than a garage queen. Titanium survives all of that: it takes a stone chip, a strap buckle and road salt without the delamination risk carbon carries.
Carbon fibre is the better answer on a bike that lives indoors and comes out on dry weekends. On one that does 15,000 kilometres a year in all weather, titanium is the part that still looks right in year five.
Two Point Seven Kilograms, and Where They Were
Kawasaki's standard silencer is a 5.22 kg double-skinned steel assembly sized for European noise limits on a 1,043 cc four. It sits behind and above the rear axle, on the side where the pannier mounts.
Taking more than half of it away is felt in two specific moments: heaving the bike upright off its side stand on an off-camber car park, and the first change of direction with luggage aboard. Neither shows up on a dyno sheet.
Nothing Else Changes
The header, the catalytic converter and the engine management are untouched. No remapping, no additional module, and the standard silencer bolts straight back on in half an hour for a service visit or a sale.
The Same Part for Six Model Years
Kawasaki left the Ninja SX's exhaust mounting alone from 2020 through 2026, across a capacity change from 1,043 to 1,099 cc. That is unusually stable, and it means one silencer covers a used 2020 machine and a current one alike.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-K10SO32-HRT covers the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX from model year 2020 through 2024 and the Ninja 1100SX from 2025 through 2026. The carbon alternative is S-K10SO32-HRC.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, with the certificates supplied and downloadable here. The silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union.
