DescriptionThe whole story▼
Rain turns the rear brake into a useful tool. On a wet motorway slip road a rider will often use the pedal alone to shed a little speed, because it upsets the bike less than a handful of front brake, and a Bimota Tesi H2 1000 caught out in weather nobody planned for is exactly that situation. Accossato presses the AGPA42 rear pad in the Sintered (ST) material for riders who do not park the bike when the forecast turns, listing it for the Tesi H2 1000 from 2021 to 2024.
Key Features
- Rear pads for the Bimota Tesi H2 1000, 2021 to 2024
- Article number AGPA42ST: the AGPA42 shape in the Sintered (ST) material
- Accossato reports high, constant grip hot or cold and confident behaviour on a wet disc
- One box, two pads, the set for the rear caliper
- The OR and ZXC versions share this shape
- The AGPA106 covers the front of this Bimota from 2021 to 2023
- The Accossato disc range holds nothing for this model
- No German ABE on file; competition use
Construction and Material Quality
What Accossato says about the Sintered (ST) material comes down to predictability in poor conditions: the grip level stays where it is when the disc is cold, when it is hot, and when it is running wet. The rear disc of a Tesi H2 1000 sits in the spray thrown up by the rear tyre, so on a wet road it is never dry. A pad that needs a moment to wipe the water away before it does anything makes the pedal feel hesitant at precisely the wrong time.
Spray Off the Back Wheel
Wet riding rewards small inputs. Speed is adjusted early and gently, the bike is kept upright for longer, and the rear brake does more of the work than it ever would on a dry day, often with a light, constant pressure through a long curve. The Tesi H2 1000 is a stable machine to ride in those conditions, and a rear pedal whose first touch always means the same thing is a large part of what lets a rider relax on a soaking road.
Riding through winter is hard on the parts that live low down. Wash the salt off the rear end regularly, check that the caliper is not seizing on one side, and inspect both pads for even wear. When new pads go in, clean the pistons before they are pressed back and change both at once. Bed the fresh set in with a few firm applications on a dry stretch, then check the fluid level and press the pedal to a solid stop before you ride.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGPA42 is Accossato's rear pad for the Bimota Tesi H2 1000 over the 2021 to 2024 seasons. At the front, the AGPA106 is listed only as far as 2023, so an owner of a later bike will find a rear entry but no front one. One box holds the pair the single rear caliper needs, and both pads belong in the bike together. No disc for the Tesi H2 1000 appears in Accossato's catalogue.
Road Approval
For the AGPA42ST we hold neither a German ABE nor test documents, which is why it appears among the competition parts and not among road equipment.
Scope of Delivery
One box of two AGPA42 pads in the Sintered (ST) material for the rear caliper.
