DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha R7 arrived in 2021 as an argument against horsepower: a twin-cylinder sports machine light enough to be enjoyed at legal speeds and cheap enough to be used at circuits without fear. It is bought by riders who intend to do a season of track days rather than one showpiece weekend. Accossato lists the R7 to 2025, including the anniversary version of 2022, and offers the FC124, a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Yamaha R7, 2021 to 2025
- The anniversary version of 2022 is listed as well
- Made completely of CNC-machined aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and closing the tank quickly
- Pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Replacement pawl available on its own
- Confirm the fit against Accossato's application list
- No German ABE documented; sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato takes aluminium, machines it on CNC equipment and offers the finished cap as a robust and durable part with a new design. The quick-closing pawl is what the rider handles: a single movement to open the R7's tank, another to close it, with none of the alignment that a threaded fitting asks for. The pin in the pawl is the coloured piece and is specified when ordering, with six shades listed. Accossato also catalogues that pawl on its own, so a damaged one is replaced without buying a second cap.
Planning a Season Around One Bike
A rider who has decided to spend a year on circuits usually works out the budget before the first date is booked. Tyres come first and cost the most. Then the days themselves, the fuel, the travel, and a reserve for the things that break. What is left over goes on the machine, and it goes further if it is spent on parts that will still be useful in the autumn. Consumables are consumed; equipment is not. Seen that way, the argument for a cap that shortens every stop is the same argument as for a decent stand or a set of warmers: it is bought once and it works at every date. The R7 is a good bike to plan such a season around precisely because it is cheap to run.
Fitment and Compatibility
This listing follows Accossato's entries for the YZF 700 R7 from 2021 to 2025 and the anniversary version of 2022. The same FC124 is catalogued at Inter-Pace for the MT-07, the MT-07 Pure and the MT-03. Please compare your machine with the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
Accossato records no German ABE and no parts certificate for this cap, so it goes out for closed courses. For public roads the R7 keeps its standard cap, which normally locks with the ignition key.
